I am going to turn your statement around on you and suggest that it is narcissism that allows for the making of statements such as the ones you have just presented. Shutting down the ability of others to express themselves to you is a selfish act. If you do not like how they express themselves, you have the right to ignore them. You do not have the right, however, to strip them of that self identity. Not in real life and not, as of yet, in FFXIV. At least not without the use of third party mods.
Do you feel the need to express yourself to every person you walk by? Do they need to recognize your outfit and be able to pick you out of a crowd?

No one is taking glamour away from you.

Only that those who don’t care, who shouldn’t matter to you because you don’t to them, can go about ignoring it further.

To touch on your laws, yes they exist. They exist to ensure people have rights, and one of those rights includes safety. Turning off your glamour does not violate your rights or make you unsafe.

There are also laws that protect people from invasive expression. Like indecent exposure laws being an obvious example. Please don’t think I’m using public nudity as a comparison to a persons glamour. The forums like to twist things. It’s merely a counterpoint.
