I find it funny how asinine some of the arguments against the proposed feature are.

"It would lessen my experience"
You wouldn't know.

"People would leave the game"
No one would know.

"People should be able to express themselves!"
They still can.

The fact that there is already a mod that can be installed that does the exact same thing, and is currently being used by people who play, seems to not bother anyone. Because no one is complaining about it and when mentioned, no one wants to acknowledge it. It only becomes an issue, it seems, if it were to become an in game feature, rather than a 3rd party.

People are making this much deeper than it is. It's being blown out of proportion. You're not being silenced. You're not being told how to express yourself. You will not know. And if the not knowing is what bothers you so much, you have other things you should be focusing on.

Just add Voidlist features to the game. Kills 2 birds with one stone. You can hide anyone you don't like or have them replaced with a placeholder, and it lets you have better block features to prevent abuse, harassment, and stalking in game.

I do have to say the irony is not lost on me that he decided to self-moderate and block me, while being against similar features letting you curate and moderate your own expreience in-game.

No back bone? This is an insult used for cowardice, yet there are zero cowards in this thread. Then you take a light handed approach to the other side. The comment is completely unnecessary and only serves as a backhand to people who formed a certain opinion

I've played them most. Cloud, Squall, Tera, Zidane didn't spend the ENTIRE game fighting the forces of opposition in a string bikini with summer sunglasses. it makes your character look stupid. And I'd like the option to hide it. That way you can "Express yourself" all you want, but people who want a more final fantasy/serious experience don't have to look at ridiculous characters that don't make any sense.

Your initial post was fine. Why'd you have to ruin it by calling people stupid looking for their characters' style choices? What a shame.

I'm just going to bring up a point that I hope was mentioned before:

The likelihood of a feature existing to invalidate the work that the dev team has put into creating the glamour system as well as the items that can be glamoured utilizing it is low as it would invalidate and ignore the time, energy and effort the dev team put into making the system and the professionally made gear assets that they introduced in the first place. It doesn't matter what players think, it doesn't matter what opinions anyone holds here. The development team isn't going to create or code a feature that allows one to ignore the work they put into the game in such a way. It's a nonsense request and always has been.

There are plenty of things I don't like seeing but I'm not so narcissistic as to demand that the development team invalidate their own work on the game by allowing me to hide thsse things.

It's a choice to pay attention to things you don't like, you can ignore it. It's really not that hard.

Let the thread die, move on.

I can turn off spell effects on my screen. I'm sure they put a lot of effort into those effects. Is that "invalidating" their hard work? No.

I would go a little further with that honestly.

Those that want to not view other people's glamours get the toggle, but it removes ALL glamours from their side. So they can't even see what they glamour onto their own gear. It just toggles all player characters to be in lore appropriate job gear.

That would be a much simpler toggle to implement I believe(and I'm no programmer, so who knows), rather than making it so that only other players are affected on their screen, which would require more lines of code than:
<if job A is on screen display artifact gear for job A on sprite>, and so forth for all jobs.

So once again you want to punish people for using something that only effects them. Why?

Mao suspects that if this feature were to be put in game there would be much peoples leaving game. Peoples do glam to express themselves. If this taken away from thems maybe thems no longer would be interested in game. Maybe SE knows this and will probably never add feature in because it would hurt their makings of Gils.

Except nothing is being taken away from anyone.
