So to me, $12 for an outfit is a steal.

Again, the perspective is going to be based on what you personally have experienced and ultimately all views are valid. If you come from a game where everything is free and a cash shop doesn't exist then its understandable that you'd have a negative view on it. Just, for people like me who have engaged with way worse costs, we have positive views on it.

Just my opinion but if 14 ever went F2P, I would not be shocked at all if Mog prices skyrocket to account for the lack of income from subs or if more predatory practices were put in place (like gacha like events or lootboxes for exclusive outfits).
If the game is f2p I don't care what they put, it's "free" so the purchases can be as expensive as they want, since it's "optional".
Keyword being "optional", because that's what people kept repeating to me ad nauseam whenever I complained, and I will say the same to the others. If it's optional it's fine right? Then it's fine if it's also expensive, isn't it?

You say 12 dollars /9 euros is a steal, but you forget the 180 dollars/156 euros for the annual subscription you pay. I guess people forget that this isn't a b2p game that you buy once and forget about it, you actively pay a subscription. And it even gets more expensive if you purchase retainers - which is a scam but that's another topic entirely and I refuse to go further

If ffxiv went f2p and prices skyrocketed, It wouldn't be a problem considering it's all optional stuff...and if it's optional, then it's fine. Isn't it?
