If you're nitpicking that hard and gettting that pedantic at my post then it's pretty clear I have a solid argument.

Like I said, it's just a purely "I want" out of people who play female characters. Nevermind that I've seen quite a few of the people replying to me in the viera threads arguing that we "should have known" we weren't going to be able to wear the AF gear for a number of jobs or for savage/alliance raid gear. Then, it changes when its somethign they want and can't use.

Because you shouldn't assume any hat is going to work on a Viera or Hrothgar once the devs stated that was going to be a thing due to their unique head shape. Do I get disappointed a little when a new hat or helmet doesn't show when I try it on? Sure, but then I also tend to not like most of the hats or helmets in the game. Even some of the ones I like I like them more on other people's characters. The only thing that bugs me is that even though I most likely won't wear it or like it I just like to know what it looks like as even though they try hard with the icons that's just a flat surface. Of course I'm probably an outlier as I don't mind much of the problems the race I chose to play has. I finally got a hairstyle that's one of my favorites this patch. The only strange thing is they didn't give us the no bangs variant. The only other thing I don't like is how stiff some of the female Viera's emotes are. Joy and happy are probably the biggest offenders. I only nitpicked about the Au Ra thing in hopes you'd stop lumping them in with the original races.

It takes a lot of work to make it look good... cause yeah the male shapes they have do NOT work with some tops, but I've done what I can with my elezen and short of being able to shorten the width of my shoulders... this is the best yer gonna get:



That said, outside of asking me, I'm never wearing the top to that set. Nope. Not happening outside of I have it, my rp partner has it "wouldn't it be cute to show off the matching couple?" pics.

I really enjoy dressing male Roegadyn in female outfit to portrait as a big size woman (not in troll way mind you). It's quite a challenge but mostly I satisfied with the result

its surprising sometimes I saw 2 male au ra in the socialate set and they made that look way better than most females with it.

There is too much trend chasing and too little style in characters in this game. And by characters I mean player characters.

Don't care if they unlock everything for every race/sex. If that gives the people with some sense style more block to work with it's just win in my eyes.

Tops are really a sticking point for how the gendered gear looks on the other gender.

For me, the feminine outfits that are clearly shaped to feature the bust, but then flattened out for a male character with no other alteration, look unflattering to me at a design perspective.

Other ones, like the new glamour one you're wearing above, look good because they do fit male bodies. (The female version of that top fits so much nicer than the male version, which looks sloppy with the lopsided tie and the shirt that looks like it's supposed to be tucked in. I feel like "short vs long sleeves" would have been the better way to go for variants, and keep the fitted bodice and neat tie constant.)

I think the dirndl vest could look cute with a different style of shirt under it, but not as it is.


Going in the opposite direction, there are a few shirt styles (like Yda's shirt and the Holy Rainbow sets) that seem inherently masculine designs because the shirt is open-fronted, and they just add a bra on the female version. I don't like those on female characters because it changes the vibe from "casual" to "look, you can see my underwear". Also the Infantry shirt which doesn't even bother adding the bra, just leaves it open at the middle front with a few straps holding it together.


Edit to be clear, because I might have sounded a bit harsh: This is my thoughts for picking my own characters' outfits; if people feel otherwise about their characters then that's none of my business.

People can wear what they want and options are good, but when I see a a guy in a dress and its not Halloween i'm walking around them.
