It is still the case. You find leroy jenkins all the way up to crystal even those days, that keep rushing alone in opener and being wrecked under 5s, and then act all toxic on repeat. This was really funny, but I wouldn't call myself a white knight. I'm not happy with how PvP is currently and do not play it myself until they either change some things, or at least add some form of friend queues.
I don't think my initial suggestion was too far off the mark, though. When like 50% of people hit crystal in s1 and 2 it's definitely not because it was hard, but was because you could just keep running at the wall to go up and up.

Some jobs definitely carry harder than others, although... to be honest it all boils down to one thing when games are relatively one sided (and I'm not even talking about a game done under 2min, just one sided where the result is pretty much a matter of time): the damage pressure on both sides combined with how people defend themselves. But as long as the damage pressure isn't met, there is almost nothing that you can do but watch your team crumble again and again like wet noodles. Damage gap differences also have that nasty self feeding effect that as soon as your team has been spending all their resources and went into defensive mode, constantly guarding, spamming recuperate, going back and using elixirs if they can, the team damage and pressure drops down even lower and it just snowballs until a wipe, every time. What frustrates me the most are 0 healing wonders (those legit exist)
And people that think healers can always heal them so they don't take care of themself at all.
And the 0-Guard wonders
People are throwing after 1 wipe and "push the crystal" overshadows "fall back and regroup" so often... :C
I WANT to main Sch in pvp, i love pvp sch, but people make it impossible IF they can not take care of themself and don't manage to press buttons.
I also like AST in pvp, but it has the same issues
I've had a lot more success on SMN because if nobody presses buttons, I sure know that I press ALL of the buttons all the time and it works out pretty well lol...
It's not like losing frustrates me, it's just if its either of these:
0 Healing
0 Guard
BARELY any buttons pressed (how can you even do so little dps sometimes???)
No LB, have seen it multiple times, people just keep dying with their LB; even PLDS
Feeders (Haha i died - respawns - runs in- dies - repeat)
And since i hit platinum, the ranked queue pops every aligned star so i went into casual and i legit had a lot of fun there because there is nothing to lose
Maybe that might be fun? You can test all you want there, too
This is also true in higher leagues, even if people at least know about the guard, recuperate and elixir buttons, there is still a wide discrepancy on skill there. But more than that, damage is king, and people always forget that. You can start looking at other areas in a game like good plays, etc, which WILL make a difference, but only as long as the damage gap/pressure is more or less even, else it's doomed from the start.

Yeah, I imagine it's still the same and it just takes longer to get up there if said Leeroy doesn't get a lucky win streak. I can visualise the player you described in my head, too.
>dives in
>doesnt even shield
>dies
Nice job!
Good match!
Give me more Keeper of the Moon rep!
