nothing is allowed xD
Yup. This is apparently it
which would also explain why other portraits that aren't linked works fine.
sigh.......... Damn it SE. Why are they only allowed in sanctuary cities?
You should at least be able to SEE the damn thing
You're either zoomed out, or your character is completely off the camera. This is actually a bug I believe as you should not be able to do this, and when going through my portraits, I noticed some of these were like this by default. In these cases what I did was just use the option 'restore to default'.

The worst part is it's actually possible.
If you open the window inside a sanctuary, and then walk outside with the window still open, you'll keep the ability to view and edit them until you close it.
Works in reverse too.

I haven't read this thread so forgive me. I hadn't turned it off entirely yet. but I would prefer to be able to adjust where this is located for the brief period they show up. Maybe there is a way already, but I haven't been able to. I might still just turn them off, haven't decided.

You can bring the window up in any duty (explore included) and move it around. Just open the duty window and look to the bottom for the portrait button. It has more settings to access, including disabling the window.I haven't read this thread so forgive me. Thats because they bungled it. The intro to the dungeon should be just like PVP instead of a black loading screen. And maybe with a less tacky intro song.I saw it once as I loaded into the new trial, said "Well, that's gonna be annoying" and turned it off as soon as I exited the duty. Same with the commendation window. The list is fine for me. I don't need pictures. I think it meshes extremely well with CC, but not so much for PvE content. In its current iteration at least.
it's really annoying just how much space it takes upI saw it once as I loaded into the new trial, said "Well, that's gonna be annoying" and turned it off as soon as I exited the duty. eh, it could stay a tad longer.I saw it once as I loaded into the new trial, said "Well, that's gonna be annoying" and turned it off as soon as I exited the duty. Same with the commendation window. It's gone in like what? 5 seconds?

You'll have to tell me how you're doing this, because you seem to be the only one to not have any issue with how it works. It could probably use a help entry in-game, but for me, I've yet to encounter a problem since properly saving my gearset in the first place. In the 6.2 notes, I've pointed out the warnings they offer about previously saves portraits.
Hitting that "update gearset" button is also important. (I think this is what a lot of people are missing when they change things out.) I've just done that out of habit since I started playing. I don't mess with visor, but I'll try it out and see what happens. Short of changing race, I've been going through most of the update scenarios and have yet to encounter a portrait that resets.
If by the "update gearset" button you're talking about the spinning arrows button on the character window, yes, I use this very, very often. I play many different classes, and change my gearsets often. Any time I click this button, it will simply unsync the linked portrait, and won't work anymore until I go to "Character > Portraits > (my gearset) > Edit > Save". This is horrid UX in my opinion, so if you have another solution, I'm all ears.
