    I know this is a few months old, but I just came across this thread and your replies are of hilariously low quality. Hitting crystal isn't "hard" now, the change to being able to derank has just exposed how RNG heavy the entire matchmaking system is.

    The idea of having a solo random queue matchmaking system where the team comps aren't even guaranteed is already absurd as it is. The fact that someone with a functional brain actually thought "Hey, why don't we make a ranked PvP system but you can't group up with anyone... in an MMO" and wasn't immediately launched out of a cannon into the ocean is difficult to comprehend.

    Either make premade vs premade, or delete ranked and roll everything into casual, because that's all this mode is: casual. Getting ranked for coin flips is just silly.

    In fact, this is the same grind, very dependent on randomness. Some people go to the ranked because the matches are faster, so they make the series faster. Others level up. It just needs to be overcome somehow.

    What frustrates me the most are 0 healing wonders (those legit exist)
    And people that think healers can always heal them so they don't take care of themself at all.
    And the 0-Guard wonders

    People are throwing after 1 wipe and "push the crystal" overshadows "fall back and regroup" so often... :C

    I WANT to main Sch in pvp, i love pvp sch, but people make it impossible IF they can not take care of themself and don't manage to press buttons.
    I also like AST in pvp, but it has the same issues

    I've had a lot more success on SMN because if nobody presses buttons, I sure know that I press ALL of the buttons all the time and it works out pretty well lol...

    It's not like losing frustrates me, it's just if its either of these:
    0 Healing
    0 Guard
    BARELY any buttons pressed (how can you even do so little dps sometimes???)
    No LB, have seen it multiple times, people just keep dying with their LB; even PLDS
    Feeders (Haha i died - respawns - runs in- dies - repeat)

    And since i hit platinum, the ranked queue pops every aligned star so i went into casual and i legit had a lot of fun there because there is nothing to lose

    Maybe that might be fun? You can test all you want there, too

    6.3 added yet another trash map to skip if you want to queue and have fair game, clowny maps like volcano are "ok" because circus doesnt start at beginning while kugane map has idiotic e9s tiles from START .....

    just as usual, SE devs do not playtest things they push in

    I think it's a difference in perception. Players were supposed to treat what was happening in the arena as an adventure and something fun. But since the level of competition, emotions and adrenaline just rolls over and people need different times to get used to, understand and learn, this causes frustration. There is really a lot going on on the map, it is overloaded with events, so there is much more stress. On the other hand, PvP is an adrenaline game, and the balance of this adrenaline (when it's fun, and when it's not so much) is different for everyone. Personally, the overload of the map with events still confuses me.

    Map literally has walking npc with giant aoe that so far i saw only helped ENEMY team to push faster, this is supposed to be skill based mode right?

    This right here is a real issue with ranked as a whole on top of the lackluster rewards for going 'For Glory' in what is essentially a lottery if you win or lose depending on the players and even jobs.
    The devs wanted to hard stop Win Trading so they completely remove the ability to make a team in favor of making it fair for everyone...but also systematically moving all the rewards to the Series Malmstones instead while giving Ranked the same exact reward each season but a different roman numeral + the same title regardless of the season is what killed doing Ranked after just 1 season (I got to platinum, not crystal but i honestly think Crystal rewards are ass ugly compared to the lower ranks). This has made Competitive literally look so lackluster and unappealing. Not helped that Casual and Ranked ques are the same exact amounts of rewards across the board. Like they're afraid to give people who want to put more effort in extra exp and currencies.

    Speaking of the Malmstones I did the math on discord after getting 25 in 5 days just casually going through and yeah, the team has made it even more well aware that they want people to obtain what would of been for top 100 teams only for everyone who puts in minimum effort.

    1-5 is 2k exp each level totaling 8,000 exp
    5-10 is 3k exp each at 15,000 total exp
    10-15 is 4k totaling 20,000 exp
    15-20 is 5.5k total 27,500 exp
    20-25 is 7.5k exp each rank which is 37,500 exp total
    all in total 108,000 Series EXP needed
    Each loss is the min i use for my math at 700 (theoretically if you lose all matches, wins are a bonus 200 on top of it meaning it adds up and saves + a daily Frontline is 1k min so roughly 1 CC win/2 CC losses worth)

    minimum you need 155 games of Crystalline Conflict to get to series 25 starting from one.

    if you do 10 matches a day it would take you a little over 2 weeks not counting wins that can lower the requirement.

    Ranked CC is not worth the headache for what is essentially a cheap T-shirt level prize for hitting higher ranks.

    to parrot everyone else a break would be best, but i dont think i agree with issue with matchmaking because there are people who were crystal in season 1 and are now unranked/bronze rank doesn't equate with skill
