I think anyone who says this is the hardest thing ever should try climbing the Kugane Tower, because clearly they have not. lol It took me over 2 hours to climb that thing. Felt like I was playing Jump Souls: Prepare to Fall Edition. It really isn't.
I went into it expecting another summer event and completed it in under four minutes. People kept saying it was the hardest thing ever and it was (in my opinion) way easier than the statue one.
If I were to wager a guess it's simply because it's new and people simply feel overwhelmed.
I think the speed buff and the bouncy jump both take you to the same spot via different paths - the speed buff allows you to run over the tiny platforms without jumping.yeah I don't understand the speed buff. it's too short to be of any use because it's basically gone by time you are thrown over by the bouncy jump one and the only other path is a million tiny platforms where a speed buff would be a potential liability. i think a higher jump + slower fall buff would've been a lot more useful.
I really like the new Jump arena but can see why people find the wonky collision hitboxes really annoying. And I curse those pinecones on every run! My only real issue with it is that it is hard to see where all the bonuses are and I often get to the end and find I'm missing a couple that are way, way back.
There's a separate path with an initial jump that you can really only make if you have the speed buff. It's just a split path with an option of which way you want to go.yeah I don't understand the speed buff. it's too short to be of any use because it's basically gone by time you are thrown over by the bouncy jump one and the only other path is a million tiny platforms where a speed buff would be a potential liability. i think a higher jump + slower fall buff would've been a lot more useful.
2nd and 3rd courses could use a checkpoint or something halfway through. Having to redo the whole thing again if you fall is just tedious and wastes a lot of time, which isn't helped by the fact that the courses in general are longer.
Most of the time when falling on the 1st course, you don't even fall all the way down.
Welcome to FFXIV!No one. Literally no one asked for this. Of all things the things you could of done with the Gold saucer you choose to waste time and resources on.. this?
The new Leap is trash. Its too long. WAY too long.
Its not fun. Its not fun because its too long for the content. This is a basic GATE game. Basic GATE games should not take this long to do for peanuts.
You could have given us a new game but you choose to give us a new leap, that no one asked for. A team of people literal got payed to design content this terrible. That deeply offends me.
Congrats on designing trash that wastes peoples time for no reason.
The... tiny platforms? Where in the world are you running to? The speed buff is entirely just to make the jump to the long running path, the jump shroom is just to bounce you up to a different jumping path, and they both converge around the tree with flowers, I think. You can even walk back down the running path you'd take with the speed buff, but you can't make the jump back to the mushrooms. (learned that when I missed a trophy right in the middle of them..)yeah I don't understand the speed buff. it's too short to be of any use because it's basically gone by time you are thrown over by the bouncy jump one and the only other path is a million tiny platforms where a speed buff would be a potential liability. i think a higher jump + slower fall buff would've been a lot more useful.
Second run, still not sure what the complaining is about. The trophies being difficult to spot, yeah, I can get that. Definitely maybe an excess of foliage in places. But, my own take, this map feels like the easiest of the 3 zones. All the platforms are pretty wide and generous. Everyone says "acorns and pinecones" and, like.. what's the issue? They're fairly large, the jumps aren't too exacting, and you can even adjust the camera and use the ropes to line up correctly. I mean. I wouldn't Sprint through those jumps, sure. But I barely noticed them besides. I was more worried about the mushrooms potentially having a weird domed collision map maybe causing some missteps and stuttered jumps (like some of the drooping roots in Nym). But they all seem pretty forgiving.
Edit: Finally got a different version of the map, did seem slightly harder for a first time go. The speed jump looked like it went up a spiral path, but the jump over the gap was brutally tight. Other than that, tho, still mostly mushroom hopping, which isn't the worst.

I find it fine personally. Perhaps because I like platformers? I don't really know. I had a bit of fun at least with the part where you choose to launch yourself up in the air, or get the big speed boost to jump over the large gap and run around a large spiraling tower.
On my second try I actually couldn't find one of the bronze trophies, but it was right at the beginning. I must've been blind lol.
“could HAVE done”, “literally”, “Gold Saucer” (capital “S”), “people’s”
Now that we have covered the form, let’s get to the content of your post - you are wrong, it is amazing.
Pay your surgeon very well to break the spell of ageing.
There's a little jumping puzzle on the stage past the goal. If you reach the top, you are treated with a great view of everybody else's struggle.
