New leap of Faith is trash

I think part of the problem is that they treat each of the Leap courses as a unique GATE instead of three variations of one, and there's a chance of it coming up at every one of three events per hour.

I honestly just wish there was an option to pick which GATE you wanted to do of the set at a given time. Yes, yes, I know, by limiting it to one you increase participation, but...

I have done Air Force One so many times that at this point I could just about 100% it with my eyes closed. And I hate trying to do Slice is Right with a lot of people crowded on the platform, though I don't mind the GATE itself. And I actually enjoy jumping puzzles! (Yes, it's probably a sign of insanity.)

So I would pick Sylphstep every time in the 40-minutes-past GATE slot if I were given the option. :|

If lots of people is an issue, try focus targeting yourself. You can see that arrow regardless of where people are.

Yeah, I do actually do that, and it does make it considerably less annoying. I still prefer jumping puzzles.

I wouldn't say flaw. I'd say preference. Dunno if you do this one as well but I made a macro specifically to turn off all the UI elements except the quest tracker. Keeps the focus arrow in view and makes it A LOT easier to focus and see during those crowded moments.

Fun or not is objective.


IMO, I think the new Leap stage is more unforgiving as there are many more "fall-and-reset" parts compared to the Floating City stage, of which bronze cactuar points are mainly on safe ground. There are seems to be some gimmicks like the blue mushroom that gives extra speed.

It really isn't.
I went into it expecting another summer event and completed it in under four minutes. People kept saying it was the hardest thing ever and it was (in my opinion) way easier than the statue one.

If I were to wager a guess it's simply because it's new and people simply feel overwhelmed.

I did it in about the same time as you, and I'd say a quarter of that was me just admiring the new map. I was expecting something super lengthy and quite difficult, given people saying that we needed 20 minutes.

I'd say the worst part about it is the jumpy/speedy mushrooms feel pretty pointless. Am guessing either it's a gimmick added to some other Savage fight or something, or possibly just testing waters? Idk.

None of the jumps felt all that challenging, certainly not compared to the other two courses.

yeah I don't understand the speed buff. it's too short to be of any use because it's basically gone by time you are thrown over by the bouncy jump one and the only other path is a million tiny platforms where a speed buff would be a potential liability. i think a higher jump + slower fall buff would've been a lot more useful.
