I am telling it like it is, mate, I love the game , the story and think they have done a hell of a job. There are no "white knights", only jaded cynics like you who cant handle others who like what you dont.

They don’t owe us ANYTHING. The sub for this game is cheaper than Netflix. Yoshida pours his blood, sweat and tears into this game and we pay pennies in exchange. I think we should be grateful that we’re getting anything at all. This isn’t Blizzard that we’re talking about here, this is Square Enix. They’re doing what they can with the small amount of resources that they have

I agree with it, I think FF 14 is wonderful and have enjoyed myself immensely,. I think FF 14 is a labour of love and they have worked damned hard to get it to where it is now...I think people like you will dunk on it just to be negative, or to be wannabe edgelords.

I appreciate all they have done, have never said the game is perfect ( Ive said the opposite in fact ), but to all intents and purposes, it stands heads and tails above a lot of the thousands of games Ive played over the last three decades..I have seen some stinkers, trust me, Club Dead. Descent to Undermountain, two or three of the Leisure Suit Larry games, some horrible indie games...so, thats my take.

If you dont like it, thats too bad...but as far as I am concerned, FF 14 is one of the best I have played in a very long time.

Be honest. We know this place is a cesspit of negativity, both for comprehensive reasons (this is the only place where the devs claim to get their feedback from, so naturally this would be the most critical place), and for ridiculous reasons (people like to nag).

But being blind isn't going to do any favours to anyone either, and you're just going to feel even worse. Sometimes, people do have proper criticism and feedback to present, and yet are shut down due to any perceived negativity. Just as much as how a game cannot grow with negativity alone, denying that this sort of behaviour exists and is commonplace about people trying to fight back that negativity won't help it grow either.

Not at all. Cynicism is a healthy thing in some circumstances, its a worthwhile brake on impulses, a good dose of it is helpful in making judgement calls. Its a useful trait to have...in measured doses. There is such a thing, however as a cynical or negative outlook all the time...it is not conducive to survival or a healthy , balanced mindset.

When all you see is negative in all around you..thats a YOU problem.

I feel fine. I am not, however, swayed by those who see the worst in everything. That sneer "white knight" is a good example of a totally negative attitude, which I reject utterly. I have never said the game is perfect, every game has its flaws. FF 14 however, has done well, better than most, and in my estimation at least, has more positives than negatives to its name.

Quite frankly, there are people here who would sit and criticise a sunrise because it isnt the colour they want. If its all the same to you, i will trust in my own judgement and perceptions, there is constructive criticism..and there is the kind of "its all bad its a bad game lets go play something else" mentality because THEY dont like it and expect you to blindly follow THEIR agenda and their worldview.

And yes Aveyond did say that "other games we should be playing". I will follow my own judgement, thank you. More than happy to listen to whatever you have to say...doesnt mean I will agree with it.

Here is cold hard fact.

FF 14 1.0 to 6.3.

If others cant, or wont, see what has been accomplished in that time, see and acknowledge the sheer hard work that has gotten us here, then they are beyond help. yes I AM a fan of YoshiP...what we see around us now is testament to the fact they have busted their rears to get us this far. I trust him and his team, I respect them, and to be bluntly honest, there are more than a few game dev teams who could do worse than learn from their example.

If that makes me a 'white knight", so be it.
