Do people do treasure maps outside FCs?

If you do "everybody needs" folks drop out just before it's thier turn to produce a map, as there's no reason to keep them in.

For my parties, bringing your own map is optional - I have enough in my moogle mail to keep us going for an hour. That's stated in the PF comment along with Free-For-All looting. There's no way to cheat that


FYI for everyone: the new Oophorectomy Maps are found at Elpis gathering points, and are the only hidden item there (So no spending 200 GP ten times because you keep getting Segaskin Maps)

I prefer FFA loots because I don't like working for somebody else's paycheck, and that's what it feels like exactly when it's "map owner need, rest greeds"-map PF.

Unless the PF creator (or me) specifically wrote something like "If X drop then it's mine, otherwise FFA" in the desc then sure. Their PF, their rule.

There kinda has to be a reason for everyone to be there imo. If I see any PFs where the leader gets first choice on items, I'm avoiding that like the plague. I've seen way too many parties where they just need everything and give nothing to anyone else.

I also am kinda split on my feelings about "map owner needs" because what do you do in situations when Person A & C don't have a single map pop a portal and everyone else does? That's two people coming along knowing they won't be getting anything and wasting their own time.

FFA is ultimately the fair way of doing things so everyone gets a chance at getting something. Even if you don't, at least you had the same chance as everyone else.

It's also more than others will contribute by not even getting a portal. I've seen people walk off with millions worth of stuff when I'm the one that gambled and won in the first place. One was kind enough to give a tip.

Imagine winning in Vegas and random people get to gamble on your winnings. That's some BS.
