Apes are scary. I think in some documentary I watched, it said that chimps are one of the only animals that actually kill for 'fun', along with humans of course.

Chimpanzees are one of the few animals that zookeepers and vet staff will actively turn down zoo jobs for. One of my coworkers was telling me about this one chimp she used to work with that feigned sedation when they darted him for anesthesia, and when she walked into his enclosure after they made sure he was asleep, he got up. She was yanked out of the enclosure by the keeper staff SO fast.

Put it like this, gorillas know they can fuck you up but are fairly chill, orangutans know they can fuck you up and will mess with you to get a response, chimpanzees know they can fuck you up and actively think about how they can go about doing it.

I don't know about Gorillas doing that. I think they are actually sort of docile, or less aggressive, in comparison to things like chimps. Chimps are the meanest of the bunch, aside from humans.

I think you're right and it was a chimp. I'm honestly trying to forget the whole thing existed because it was just so...surreal and creepy.

Why does this thread remind me of an episode of that show Crank Yankers that had some guy doing a british accent calling about shooting and mounting a bear in his neighbor's yard and then starts telling the person on the phone about other "animals" he's killed and mounted on the wall and they're all heads of people... >.>

I can respect that. It's kinda sad though that humans can't be like that more often than not. We're like chimps, but worse. And we have nukes. What part of that is destined to end well?

Yeah, I've definitely heard that. I was watching this other thing, and it said that you pretty much don't want to show weakness to a chimp. They will actively test you, and if they get confident, bad things can happen. They will actively seek revenge against a person or other chimps as well. A lot of people are surprised when I have told them that I wouldn't want to be anywhere near a chimp.

I've been unfortunate enough to see a video of a gorilla or some sort of ape eating a baby deer while it was still alive. I'd rather not see one catch you.
