Dear Squeenix: Instead of using FOMO to promote PVP...

People need to git gud. Plain and simple. They could throw a dozen more game modes on and it still would be miserable if all the same people were showing up taking the same approach.

player skill is not the issue here, CC is alright but it does need some changes or an addition of party queues. People already time their queues with friends and mess about, was fun before but now they're doing it to be toxic.
first season we all saw the Everyone attack! spammers, but now people actively seek you out and gang up on you, emote on your dead body cause you killed them 3 times inside a skirmish in other matches :'D
same people would then get queued with you a day later and would throw the match just cause they're on your team with their friend in the other.

pvp definitely needs different modes and either allow party queues or none at all (que with friends at the same time).but mostly, they really need something better than a trash mob dragon to entice people to go for 75% series lol

Skill is absolutely the issue the majority of the time. I know from my own experience and discussions with others. If people aren't all on board with trying to actually hit objectives and play smart, you're screwed and the fun is gone. It's been a long road to get victory achievements and I've taken a nice break because of this.

I'm not denying that there have been some issues in balance, but even PLD cheese was overcome by people actually coming together and focusing on fighting off the problem.

I disagree, skill was never the issue. What you're describing is the exact problem I mentioned in my comment; people choose to ignore the objectives and focus someone or troll or whatever you wanna call it.
And being on board with 4 strangers while tough, it's not as scarce as you make it sound, you'll occasionally get that one BLM focusing their friend/grudge or that dancer that goes after someone then dies in 4 vs 1 etc..
It has nothing to do with skill, you see this less in ranked but casual is uh.. a forest fire lmao
