NA pings are awful for me is why I am not interested in either Oceania or NA regions. I will quite likely move to new Europe DC when it opens just for the housing, but fact that players have to leave behind their original homeworlds just to access this completely solo content is horrendous.

EDIT: Seeing people defend the system of housing limitations by saying "just transfer home worlds" is literally proving that housing system is awful and needs huge expansions. It shouldn't be a requirement to transfer to another server/world just to be able to access full housing. This isn't a small indie company.

No one actually defends the housing system as it is. We just accept it for what it is. Some things are very much locked in, unless someone comes up with a way to cleanly transfer all that data to fully instanced housing for the half a million houses that are out there.

That's absolutely not necessary to solve the issues. The wards and neighbourhoods that is beloved idea of devs can stay. But there's 0 reason why in addition to limited wards with slot-based housing there can't be instanced housing apartment-style but for full houses. It keeps the neighbourhoods that aparently devs like so much, it removes the need to transfer all existing housing to new system, but it also creates a system where anyone can get a house and partake in housing-exclusive content without roadblocks like 'there is no player plots available on your home world'

It's not necessary, but that's what people tend to cry for. Maybe they don't want to do either that or what you're suggesting because of the amount of additional storage that would be required for having all those instances. They seem very keen on not having anything going to waste and sitting idle. If you really want a space that won't disappear when you take a break, you can get an apartment.

I'd honestly be content with apartments if they were just a BIT bigger and Gardening didn't exist. But because gardening is a thing that exists and is exclusive to house ownership (crossbreeding part is cruicial so no, pots do not count), I do not see apartments as viable alternative.

It's possible that may go to island. There's a comment Yoshida has made about some outdoor / garden furnishings possibly going on island. It's hard to tell what he means by that. We may find out Friday.

Knowing them, it'll probably be like 5 specific spots on the island, with you being able to put one, singular outdoor decoration into each and the gardening plots will be expressly not among things that can be placed there.

There's no reason they can't do both. At the very least they could start with enabling teleportation without the aetherite. We can already do it in our apartments, I'm sorry but I think your opinion is wrong.

My personal house is a small. I lived in a small since I won my first home placard clicking on September 1, 2021. I got lucky and relocated from that home into a few other smalls, and my last relocation, I hit the jackpot and was able to relocate to plot 29 in LB, with folks running on my heels to get to the placard before me.

I've stayed there since. It's not the huge yard our FC house has, but I love it. Would I like maybe a few more spots, sure, but I think with planning and vision, even the yard of a small can be wonderful. Heck, I've seen mediums and larges with crappier designed yards than some of smalls out there.
