Ok I got to admit that analogy was super funnyThe biggest limiter to this game isn't the amount of content, it's the people who refuse to play it because they view this game as a "cheap girlfriend". They plow through the story and the raids, and then go play something else. But the worst part? Those exact same people spend hours of their time extolling on forums like this one about how great FFXIV is BECAUSE it has no gameplay. Many of them unsub and tell others to do the same, as you can see in this thread. Out of some kind of twisted "love" for the game!
The remainder of us who long to continue playing have no one to queue with. Our FCs become ghost towns, our friends never log in, queues get longer and longer, and PF becomes deserted. New players, like OP, never get exposed to some of the more obscure content.
Perhaps it's best for us to adjust to see this game as a "cheap girlfriend"--not because of the game itself, but because that's how other players want to see it. They don't see FFXIV as an equal to something like WoW. Just some "side hoe". Perhaps that's what it means to be cheap.

Johners, it sounds like you need to take a break for a while and let the story for Endwalker build up since the main story is your main reason for playing. Save yourself some money, unsubscribe, and come back after a year. Alternatively, if you're interested in trying, then do the Endwalker extremes. Do the savage tiers that are out. Collect TT cards, etc. Make friends along the way! For me, what keeps me engaged aside from the in-game content is the people that I meet on my journey through Etheirys. I also juggle this game with single player jrpgs, smash bros ultimate, etc![]()
That's because capping tomestones is an MMO activity and getting 50 from a guaranteed Crystal Tower run is always a better choice than potentially landing in a Nier raid and being inside for 40-60 minutes for the same reward.
You have no sense of adventure. Ironic!
Running the same thing over and over is a good way to burn out. There's a lot more to enjoy when you mix things up and see who gets blasted by what or gets the SQEX office lobbed at them.![]()
Didn't you tell me I should be banned for leaving CT raids instantly whenever I get them because I am tired of running them? Ironic...
I would rather spend the time in a Nier raid than do any of the CT series.
I have a sense of adventure but running the same pool of alliance raids is going to get tiring either way. I'd rather just get in and out in 15-20 minutes than potentially spend 40-60 minutes clearing that last Nier raid (especially that one) because nobody ever knows what to do.
There are the occasional slip ups, but it's really not that bad. If running the pool of raids is tiring, then stop for a bit. I stopped running that roulette regularly a long time ago. (I started running it again just to see how bad the ilvl cheese supposedly is. I ended up enjoying these raids again. I had worn myself out doing the ShB relics when they were current.) About the only thing I run regularly is expert and I've even slowed down on that. I still cap my tomes. I still have fun. Everything doesn't have to be a perfectly clean run, optimized out the wazoo.I have a sense of adventure but running the same pool of alliance raids is going to get tiring either way.
