Trying isn't good enough in this great value overwatch. You're gonna get spammed if you are bringing up the bottom of the scoreboard, int'ing to the payload to stall it for one second if that or dying with full mana.

You're arguing it's okay to harass people who play poorly because they play poorly.
I've long since come to the conclusion that people like them are why they add an ignore function to the message boards. I don't understand the point of coming to a message board just to be toxic and fling turds at people, but... oh well, that's what they seem to be focused on.

There's many, many reasons to be frustrated with your teammates in CC. It's still never grounds to harass them for any reason.

As the great Ilya Bryzgalov said, "is only game, why you have to be mad?"

Yes. Because if your best includes you not pressing recup/purify, doing no damage even though pvp rotations are braindead as shit, not falling back and regrouping when being requested to thus constantly staggering the team where it's unwinnable...if that's your best after 200+ games, you're obviously not taking the time to actually learn. You're showing you're too stubborn to learn from mistakes and you're doing the same thing over and over again expecting better results. Being new is fine since we've all been there, but I've seen so much pvp enthusiast who stay bad because they don't like to take criticism, they're too stubborn to change things up and be a team player, and they're so entitled that they expect people to carry them since they know Yoshi P will protect their stubborn ways, playing the dice roll game of who gets the better teammates. People spamming you quickchats is them telling you to get a bloody grip.

It's even more embarrassing to be bad at pvp, because Yoshi P has instructed the team to make new pvp as braindead easy as possible because he wants to babysit the snowflake FFXIV players who can't handle old pvp. It should be hard to be bad at pvp if you play it a lot.

We hate losing to other players, and we especially hate it when we know it's clearly not our fault and there is the usual deadbeat anchor that poisons the team and we know that our fate is sealed on getting a loss unless we're so lucky that the other team has an even worse teammate. Don't be surprised you get called out for it. You're in Aether data center for christ sake! Why are you so surprised this happens? It's going to happen if pvp players know who you are, and know how bad you play, because it is niche content. We will remember the worst players and we will remember the best players. It's a small world.

Oooh, didn't expect the double down, but... k, now back to my original point. Wouldn't you be happier chewing me out with actual words instead of just quickchat messages?

Well, I can throw Nice Job!/Good Game! after, uh, hideously lost CC.
Only sometimes, when the team clearly made an effort and the teams were almost evenly matched I mean that, despite the loss.
Defeat doesn't automatically bad game make.

But most times it is to give the "Nice job! Nice job! Good match! Good match! Good match! Good match! Good match!" spammer some back.

    "People are trying their best"

    - Do not set-up PVP hotbars with all the skills.
    - Do not read the tooltips on abilities to make sure they are used efficiently.
    - Do not practice rotations on training dummies in the Wolves Den Pier.
    - Do not look into the abilities of other classes.
    - Save LBs for next game.
    - Do not look for youtube videos explaining how to efficiently play their class.
    - Do not ask or look for any advice on forums or discords.
    - Do not press Recuperate or Purify.
    - Never elixir or when they do, it's at 80% health and 80% MP.

Well, as long as they FEEL like they are trying their best, that should count for something right ? How dare someone sarcastically tell them Nice Job when they just died for the 7th time with full MP ?

And to the people saying : "It's casual, you shouldn't care about winning". If you are on Aether, not only could you only play Ranked at very specific times during the day, now you can't even play it all. So casual is your only option. And some people actually care about winning when you play something competitive, especially if there are rewards involved.

Is it too much to expect people to not necessarily be Crystal top 10 players, but at least have the very basic fundamentals down ?

There's no rewards involved with winning in casual. Also you being on a shit DC is no one's fault but your own.

Consider: they added a Very Easy mode option to single-player duties (absolutely none of which are particularly demanding or difficult in any reasonable sense), presumably because some players felt that the default difficulty was too hard.

So, in short? Kind of, yeah? Square-Enix is pretty up front with them designing the game around low/zero-responsibility outside of dedicated sweaty big boys modes. The lack of ranked availability is not an excuse to put "ranked expectations" onto non-ranked players. That's because Square-Enix created a garbage ranking system and then failed to provide meaningful support for the ranked ladder, such that very few players consider playing ranked to be worth the effort anymore. If you want organized or just higher-quality games, you are best off just arranging custom matches between set teams/pools of players rather than relying on ranked matchmaking - I know PvP Revival discord has regular events for this, at least.

FWIW, I completely agree with your opinion - I consider it basic social responsibility to understand the baseline fundamentals of play before signing up for team modes, whether PvE or PvP - but Square-Enix does not. Or does not seem to, anyway. Understand, though, that I do not consider it acceptable to harass people in-game over their lack of understanding/effort.

Aether is generally considered at least the second best NA DC for PvP - it's kind of a toss-up between Primal and Aether. It's not really an Aether thing, it's more of a "there's really not much reason to endure the garbage in ranked" problem in general.

Honestly, I think it's a culture thing. Like the game doesn't teach you how to do anything except an optional Hall of the Novice before your first dungeon. They sort of just expect people to be able to play decently enough to respect other people's time. Which I guess is pretty true in JP datacenters but couldn't be further from the truth elsewhere.

But people assume that if SE doesn't tell you anything, it's an endorsement that it's okay to be utterly useless. The only interaction you will ever have with someone involved with the game is if you end up in jail or something. Even reports that you submit will not warrant a non-automated response. So, if someone doesn't say anything, you can just interpret that they want whatever you want.

But they do seem to want people to improve at the game. They implemented de-ranking on the 1st patch after the PVP revamp and the wording in that was something like: "To make sure players always try their best". They want people to play better, they just never will tell you: You suck, git gud scrubs. I highly doubt they release difficult content or a ranked mode without hoping people improve their skills and attempt it.

Honey, refer to my first post.

"Do you know how much people will get banned from their impulse to talk crap to each other? I'm disappointed but at the same time glad that we have a quickchat system, because I would of got banned with the sort of things I would love to say to certain players in my data center."

Read. Please. For the love of god. You already got your answer. Yoshi P loves to protect players like you. GMs barely do anything about griefers, win-traders and cheaters in PvP. Heck, they don't do much about griefers in PvE content, like insecure entitled tanks who turn off tank stance when people are ahead of them. GMs will however, instant ban anyone who has criticised a little snowflake for the way you play as long as they got chatlog proof. They love protecting self entitled players who don't want to get better and expect others to carry them through content. Yoshi P has an undying love for you guys for some reason. And that is the reason why we cannot talk crap in-game towards you guys directly. I am not getting my account marked for that. You're not worth my ban time.
