It really bums me out that the devs and sometimes the community outright wanna forget Ala Mhigo rather than petition to improve how it looks and give it a proper city-state feel.

Hell they even leave the place out of promotional material. It's got a unique aesthetic, so why not actually do something with it? It feels like we liberated that place for a convenient spot to have the military leaders rather than liberating a real city.

No. That's too much to ask. It's too stressful!

Sounds to me that middle eastern culture have a general negative bias around here since I often hear people not give a crap about Ala Mhigo because they find the aesthetic boring. I wouldnt call racist but definitely seeing a pattern here.

The problem with Ala Mhigo is that a lot of the sights are pretty much the same color, without much variation. Drab brown no matter where you turn. Looking at the forested part of The Fringes and the catacombs and forested part of The Lochs into account, there was opportunity to provide a bit more color and vary how it looked. But they kept the same brown color scheme for the areas.
