Did it work? Do you feel better? Cause sometimes sharing your stories and hearing other people have run into similar issues really can make you feel better. You arent alone, you arent crazy, some people just do inexplicable/crazy/amazing/stupid things.
On topic. I had a run a few days ago(maybe last week?) that i kinda wanted to share, but just never got around to typing up. Trials roulette into Castrum Marinum(Emerald). Both healers are new, but dont say anything. Pull starts, and they both drop to the first spin-cycle(if you dont know its coming, that can be a rough one to deal with). I dont remember the DPS, but i know we didnt have a SMN or RDM so no reses on the table. Everyone keeps going(i think i remember a "whoops" in chat). The fight has a lot of stretches of no raidwide/only avoidable damage going out, so we make good progress. We're losing DPS, but very slowly. When we hit the phase transition there was a bit of a sigh of relief. But the fight keeps going, and it seems the tanks and DPS still standing(yes, i was still up at this point) have challenged themselves to win the entire fight without healers. And we honestly might have, but one of the tanks screwed up their mitigation at around 30%(by this point it was 2 tanks me and one other DPS still standing) and fell. They were soon followed by the other DPS, and in the end me and the lone tank could only get the fight to about 10% before we were out of resources. The healers? They were cheering us on and seemed impressed how long we could go without help. No ridicule, no name calling. Pulled again, and 4 mins and 0 deaths later everyone was congratulating each other and going on their way. I hope those healers enjoyed the rest of the Werlyt story. You guys did fine other then getting caught in one bad mech you didnt know(or ask) about.
Ridorana: A tank tried to hassle me (SMN) for using LB3 on math bot because it was low dps. I said it's not EX/Savage, so it doesn't matter that much. (Apparently I'm toxic. Oh well) Meanwhile, I must've cast rez over a dozen times between there and the boss, so I definitely wasn't the reason for the low dps. He stopped talking nonsense after he had the final boss all the way north to cleave everybody and I called him on that.![]()

If melee wasn't going to get on that then yeah...totally LB the boss. A full LB meter unused is about as useful as an empty one.Ridorana: A tank tried to hassle me (SMN) for using LB3 on math bot because it was low dps. Posting on behalf of my friend. I think this is exactly the sort of mentor I dislike, at least personally. It's a level 73 dungeon, you're pulling for the tank without even seeing if they'll pull big themselves, you're nannying everything instead of just giving an off-handed headsup when they fail, and OFC ganging up with your pocket healer against the person who speaks even a little against your attitude. And of course, snarking against YPYT probably because you got carp for pulling mercilessly and min-maxing a levelling dungeon earlier.
Are people really complaining about free damage? -._.` What, if the melee had LB'd sooner, which would have been more optimal, would he have complained about it too? It's going to reset on Yiazmat anyway, I doubt it'd have hurt.
-_- Zodiark Mentor. Because of course it would be... All they do all day is argue semanthics and what constitutes a violation of the ToS. You post something to help a sprout out, they start talking about how you can't enforce a playstyle on people. And that's when they're not giving a lv 30 Arcanist tips on lv 90 endgame rotations. Because that's totally what's going to help them understand Scholar at that level.Posting on behalf of my friend. I think this is exactly the sort of mentor I dislike, at least personally. Besides, YPYT may be toxic, but so too is saying "Oh an enabler, don't be like X person!". Especially when the tank is clearly new and figuring his stuff out. Most of the time they haven't gotten a proper grasp of what they can pull, what mitigation to use and have a hard time keeping tabs on the stuff they have around them.

Levelling roulette today was a fun one.
Ended up with a party of German players - one with a UDS weapon, no less - in the ToB who were so hellbent on taking every conceivable form of avoidable damage available I almost felt compelled to call a hotline, because evidently they were more than tired of living.
The tank was actually a mentor to boot, despite having some of the most miserable positioning and pulling attempts I've ever seen, and I spent the majority of the run throwing Afflatus on cooldown and had to predominantly rely on Medica and even Cure III to save them all before the unavoidable damage got to them first.
Of course, they were at least very polite, and I got some nice comms at the end of my run.
Ha! Just kidding. They ran through the entire thing in silence, rolled for every piece of loot and left without a word. Joy!

Had two amazing roulette runs to push my WAR to 90, one in a good way and the other in a funny one.
1. Mt. Gulg: SGE healer, MCH and SAM DDs (one of them was a mentor). We were absolutely flying through the dungeon, barely any mistakes and all hearty pulls - even the infamous 3 packs right before the last boss. It was so great, SGE never let me die, and WAR is just so much fun with Holmgang and self heals. We killed the last boss before she phased for a second time, something which doesn't happen too often for me.
2. Castrum Fluminis. Most of the roulette queuers were perhaps expecting something in the level 50 range and got a nasty surprise. Deaths at the very first Shiva AoEs set the scene for what was to come, with multiple deaths and healers alternating dying. At phase 3 it was for sure a scuffle with the gimmick mechanic of managing New/Full Moon stacks, and the AST kept dying to that. I was main-tank, and since I've grown to expect harder Trials I was somewhat prepared and managed not to screw up. At the last moments everyone expect me and the off-tank were alive, and our health was gradually slipping too. My Equilibrium and Raw Intuition were on CD, and Tsukuyomi was at 2% or so.
LB3 was filled.
We were both at 20%.
She was about to let out a raid-wide.
I thought quickly... and pressed the Limit Break.
BAM! We took no damage, and took care of her.
Was exciting. I've never gotten to press Tank LB until now.
Mortal Fist
I had a moment in Expert Roulette today. The Fell Court of Troia. Had a SMN, RPR, and WAR. The WAR had so much healing that they just kept on using Nascent Flash on me and I didn't need to heal jack squat. I felt terrible. I felt useless. I wanted to literally get out of there asap. All I did was DoT and spam my AoE, or spam my single target attack during boss.
The party members cheered on how fast the run was. I was literally dying inside on how useless I felt as a healer. I had the urge to just quit the dungeon midway because I really didn't need to cast a single heal at all, other than feeling like I'm pretending to do something with my role. I felt like a leech to this party. I usually just brush this feeling off and telling myself this is normal due to gear ilvls, but when the WAR starts using Nascent Flash on me even when everyone was topped off... burning their cds for no apparent reason... and I still didn't need to heal.. it felt disgusting.
I felt disgusting.
I don't ever want to touch Expert Roulette as a healer ever again. I need to take a break from the role.
