yet there's tons and tons and tons of effort made to quell RMT and botting, including restricting players from gifting items.
Quite a few people get effed over because they get scammed. Accounts and credit cards get compromised and this summer was particularly bad. Credit bureaus put the pressure on SE to do something about it because there were so many chargebacks.
