Been away for a year. Came back and forgot to put the soul crystal into the slot. Didn't even think about it since I don't play this dps version often. Some bottom dwellers noticed it immediately.

Nothing will be said to the players so they will continue to be scum. I simply forgot to put the soul crystal in the slot, didn't notice about my class!

Well that is enough for me. Why pay to play with slime? I can't even find them to add them to a blacklist so I won't have to party up again. Why pay an online sub for this?

It's common for people to react this way to the lack of a job stone. Either they don't notice, or they notice and politely explain to the new player, or they are rude about it. If it's content higher than level 49 they will usually think you are trolling, express frustration and then leave.

This reaction is naive because a job stone doesn't really matter. Gear and level is what affects your ability to survive and scale damage.

Your potency is reduced because of a lack of actions and traits from the job stone, but not to a point where you're going to notice the difference between that and a new player that isn't doing their rotation well.

Since they were rude, you could go to the system menu then support desk and report harassment, and explain the mistake that happened but that these players were extremely rude about it. They will want to know which dungeon it happened in, what time and what day. They can't tell you if they do anything about it, but they are known for doing things about it because a lot of people get into trouble for being rude.

(I recommend editing the post and removing their names because it's against the forum rules to name names).

Since you are quoting 4 ppl this must have happend in +lvl 50 content so as a rogue you were missing all your job actions and basically asking for a carry which is also kind of rude imo.

Many people troll this way ; by not putting their crystal on the slot. I came across my fair share of gladiators in 50+ content to know it's annoying.

Unfortunately, you forgot ; which happens, it's alright ; but their reaction is sort of "normal", especially if you were in a 50+ content (althought not necessary, they didn't have to be rude about it).

Just be careful from now on to put that crystal on when getting into contents and it should be perfectly fine.

I mean, you're always free to speak with your pocket, but I wouldn't take a minor dungeon interaction like that to heart. Just be careful about your stone from now on and things will go smoothly.

The slime here is you. There is NO reason you shouldn't have had a Soul Crystal equipped unless you were sub 30. You deserved the reaction and to be removed, you do not deserve to be outraged

Unfortunately there are a lot more players like FireMage that act like this than there used to be. That's sort of because the game grew and actually absorbed a lot of disenfranchised WoW players who brought their toxic nature to the game. As the game grew, things like this just naturally began occurring more often. It's a bummer, but it's also nice to see the game thriving. It's just something you have to swallow that sometimes you will run into a jerk. People make mistakes, people do not play optimally, people play at their own speed and what they are comfortable with, and they do not deserve to be insulted or derided for this. These people are part of this low-social modern gaming phenomenon that uses duty finder / dungeon finder and never really have to socially interact with other players. It's brought them into this gaming style of get in with a group of people you do not know, do the content as fast as humanely possible, leave before saying to anything to anyone. And anyone that interrupts their desired experience is considered a selfish entitled trash player, and they'll let them know.

It sucks, I know, but unfortunately that's just modern gaming. You will find these kinds of players in almost every MMO that you play (I have played them all). I find the best communities are actually the communities in private servers for other games. As far as FF14, I don't usually play slow / forget things so these kinds of things very rarely happen to me, but I see people post about them or see other people in my group be attacked like this enough to know that it is an issue. Just focus on the things you love about the game and when it comes to Duty Finder just grit your teeth and know that every time you click to join there could be someone like the above poster in your group.

That isn't true at all. People "who have played WoW" have always come to this game, even before its last 3 expansions. This game has always been 50% current or former WoW players. People have always said this about people from WoW, but it's not just people from WoW but people from FFXI and other games such as League of Legends. I would argue it was worse in ARR and got better over time, especially after the rules were changed to remove loopholes so now just vaguely "being rude" can be reported.

I try and stick with either my FC or friends I have made in several other groups. For leveling/MSQ I used the NPCs... I can go at my own pace, nobody does jerk things like not putting on tank stance (had a fight with PF folks and most of the fights I had the boss constantly on me, even got a tank buster (as a dps). The NPCs rarely do mechanics incorrectly. Yes, it can take a bunch of wipes on certain bosses, but I never exceeded the 90 min limit. You don't have to study up on the mechs beforehand because you have the leeway of going down a few times using the NPCs. You also get to get all the loot, I am somewhat disabled and can't jump on a chest, pick my option because everyone else is about to start on the next boss/trash.
