    I have the coat/Set on 3 different characters.

    Don't ask me why, I just like frontlines and PVP more than anything in this game.

    Now I actually want more rewards because since a year ago that I have nothing left to accomplish in Frontlines.

    For the matches I've been in, I think every one of them has ended with the second team at 700+ and the third team not far behind. In one match I watched our score in the final moments teeter at the edge – 791, 795, back to 791 – while our opponent was at 785.
    Well, for one I agree that being in that kind of situation sucks and puts extreme pressure on you if you're trying to win. But even that ultimately just boils down to whomever bursts the other team down the quickest and the hardest; IF possible disengage and get a better position, then the objectively best way to just shut down the opposing team, if you're not in a premade with VC, is using a burst macro to synchronize the damage and get some kills for the few points needed for the win. And I'd argue that pressing your highest damage AoE spell when the counter reaches 0 is not something that needs to be getting THAT good at honestly; legitimately you can mentally afk most of the match as long as you press that AoE button when the macro goes off. JP does it all the time, meanwhile in both NA and EU DCs some people give you SHIT for even attempting to coordinate your burst and instead of playing the game they spend the next 5 minutes complaining in /a about the chat sounds (that you totally can disable). A lot of PvE players love to just turn off their brains and follow a dorito around for mechanics, and I can't blame them because that's just comfy, but then why is it so different for PvP? What's so hard about following a dorito or waymark, and press even just one button after the macro goes off? What gives?

    Understandably, it's hard to compare this to being on VC, that's just so much smoother and I would arguably say more fun.

    However, if a number of people are complaining about chat sounds, perhaps it's likely that they're being over-used. Personally if someone is spamming them I'll just tune them out after a while, if they're used sparingly they'll be much more effective. Take this from someone who keeps my map open all the time appreciates them in case I may miss some instructions/get pinched, etc. Otherwise I do not want to see (which I have seen) for example, a WHM in another party continually spamming, with sound "MY LB is UP, focus them". Uh, OK. We lost that match, by the way.

I've been fooling around on a new character on Dynamis and most of that has just been chill crafter and gatherer activity. But even back before I went on break, right after the patch that kneecapped SMN and made NIN immortal (instead of just "mostly immortal"), I would regularly see 5+ players on the winning team with scores like you mentioned above. In fact, it was almost always the winning team that had the KDA ratio leaders, or at least the largest portion of them - and that is *not* a coincidence.

    You *can* win without that, and it does happen - most commonly when the team in the lead gets full of themselves and thinks they can afford to just relax and slug other players and ignore objectives while one of the other teams is actually playing to win and getting objectives and pick-offs to close the BH gap - but the most overwhelmingly common result was, the team that won had the largest portion of players topping KDA, and by a considerable margin.

    Individual player skill *DOES MATTER* in FL. It actually matters a lot. Just, less so than in CC for example. Ironically, I think this belief that "my skill/play doesn't matter" actually results in Frontlines being *more* toxic than CC simply because it can feel like you're pissing into the wind. You aren't, not really, but the perception is that you are.

    Like, you can literally hit the little gray button for the precise score breakdown at the end of the game. The one that tells you how many points were gained from objectives, how many from kills, and how many points were lost to deaths. Then you can take that information and sort the glorified spreadsheet by kills or assists or deaths, and you'll see that the team that won... who often have the best ratio of kill-points versus death-losses... won in large part due to how many other players they killed. It is *not* a coincidence. If you are regularly posting those 15/0/30 games or whatever, you *are* going to have a higher percentage of 1st and 2nd place finishes than players who typically post 3/8/15 or something.

    Honestly, it's not a number of people complaining, in fact most people seem to really appreciate the callouts and very infrequently does someone complain, but the problem is when they do they always threaten me by reporting (and they usually also get called out for it in alliance chat) and I'm just here like... lol? I just want to play the game and maybe win? I've also put a modicum of thought behind my callout's audio design so no annoying <se.6> go off or anything. Some people can just be incredibly salty over the silliest things. lol

    idk there are some games where if I’m distracted by something irl or whatever and maybe die a bit too much (maybe 2-3 times feels like too much for me) I’ll still win just cuz my team was good and the enemies were pretty bad. But then I’ll have games where I will be around top damage/kills but still lose, and the score was veryyy close to being a draw. Honestly I’d say most of my matches are like that instead of absolute unfair slaughters.

    also, you can collect kills but if you’re the only one on your team with BH5 because no one else is getting assists/kills, but the other team has a ton of them, I mean what are you supposed to do about that lol. I really think it’s RNG. For the record I have a 40% winrate overall, and usually weekly too.
