Why so much in-game racism?

There are a lot of gross stereotypes attached to races that I've heard over the years. None of these are my opinion, just stating that now and I don't agree with any of the below.

For example:
- People who play lalas are pedophiles
- People who play Miqos, fem Ra or Viera are whores/prostitutes
- People who play Hrothgar are gay, into beastiality or both
- Male Ra are groomers

I honestly haven't heard much about Hyurs other than they're boring and as far as Roes go, just that they're the ugly race of the game.

That's a new one to me. I always assumed their player stereotype was "edgy". Is it the height difference between them and their female counterparts?

Edit: Oh, I see that you didn't actually mention Male Au Ra players, just Male Au Ra themselves.

And then there's Elezen, the true master race of Eorzea whose only stereotype is "haha giraffe run funny". Legitimately can't think of a negative stereotype towards Elezen players, just jokes about the race's elongated neccs and run animation.

Well, it doesn't help their case when furries flock to the race. You can make the argument of "#notall_____" but stereotypes occur for a reason, it's not a sudden thing. It would be like getting mad when people call twitch streamers groomers. It's not a 100% mark but when you can blindly throw a dart at a dartboard of 50 or so twitch streamers and get more groomers than good boi streamers then that's just noticing a pattern, lol.

Same here, but i'm not so ignorant why sterotypes are brought up. You can be lazy and brush it under the rug or use it as a blade against those dirty ______ but the inverse of it is knowing what you are walking into. Some might actually even use it as a basis to better themselves, funny how that works!

As far as weaponizing a stereotype, sure but at least have evidence of the person being the same stereotype instead of jumping into things being like: "Oh you're a lala? You must be a pedophile irl." There's a difference between being fair about it and just assuming from the start (which I don't agree with under any circumstance but I am someone who also needs sound proof before believing any accusations against anyone). I don't really consider it lazy either to go that route, I just really can't get on board with immediate cancel culture or excluding people/treating others poorly because of a race in a game lol.


As far as using it to improve themselves, depends on the person and how they view themselves in the first place tbh. I've met more narcissists and sociopaths on here than I'd like to admit and they see absolutely nothing wrong with how they act.

Also, it's also ironic you are using the term "cancel culture" considering that is just a stereotype of ____ (can't catch me slippin', ethics department!) which is known for societally strangling a person out of a platform or even a voice! Have you really though? Are you a trained professional? Individuals with ASPD are not as common as TikTok likes to make it out to be. For the most part they are just genuine assholes. Making that assumption is just as dangerous as falling into stereotypes.
