How are they locating the items you've posted tho? considering market board runs on awful engine and there're tens of thousands of items

They mentioned before they entered leathers and I'm guessing some other material/endgame markets. It wont take someone whos glued to the market board and possibly vengeful long to scroll through all the different types and find their retainers since they only have two. And especially if they have their signature on the item.

Someone engaged in RMT isn't going to spend their time harassing a player. They're going to spend their time making and selling gil.

Yea, I'd have to agree there. If anything, if they've been at it long enough, they probably feel like they're unstoppable. I just started naming all of my retainers Meeseeks because the names across the DC are just out of control. (Also the first thing that kept popping in my head as I was looking through the markets, lol. LOOK AT MEE OOOoOOOOOoo-WEEE!) To me retainer names are relative cuz my name is plastered all over everything, but they're actively trying to communicate with each other through retainers. Some people make it their life's mission to antagonize you in the market in hopes you'll slip up and make mistakes that benefit them. As someone who's had his wares tanked by a player, then bought with his alts, I feel for ya. I do get a chuckle though cuz I had someone appear literally out of nowhere with a different LDCs wares, and they're being held up by a one man band. Tank it all they want, the market's just gonna start buckling. And here I thought I was gonna get to stay in my lane this year. xD

Keep your head up, if it's too much a bother just keep trying to kindly ask them to stop, if they don't, report. Sounds more like they're just trolling, which should be reportable. Everyone out here trying to grief each other out of the market, and from what I see, unless SE reigns it in, everyone's gonna get dirty being in the Market. And the deeper you're in it, the dirtier it gets. The smaller the footprint you have in the market, the easier it will be for anyone to just force you out, and if it's low enough that they think they can turn a profit and maintain being 'the only gig in town', they will. It's one thing to be the only one if you are indeed the only one. When I came back in to the market, I regrettably forced a couple people out, but they were the same from last time, and they were at it gain with the gouging because?

most RMT bots arent going to care.

the people who harass you are going to be other actual players who feel hitting the gil cap is some form of epeen fulfillment. and removing you from the equation is their form of "fun". RMT people have bots putting things up and undercutting you, they dont know or care who you are, their interest is real money, not taking the time to find out your retainer names etc

Engaging in harassment of a single player accomplishes nothing for RMT when there are multiple player competitors. We're not seeing reports of dozens of sellers per world being harassed. It's apparently just this one player.

As true as I want that to be, it's a very black & white to assume we know what's going on with them outside of the market unless we are RMT. Might be 'bots' as we call them, but real people still gotta maintain those things. Now what I do believe is they wouldn't waste their time trying to be completionists in the game, or decorate their rooms, etc. If I was looking for RMT that'd be my 1st guess, but off topic to OP. I've got a whole post I could make about it, potential theories, methods, yadda yadda.

If it was RMT, they would be doing this to every seller on every server and the forums would be flooded with complaints. They're not accomplishing anything by doing it to a single seller on a single server. The OP is not going to be their only competitor.

It could very well be that the OP is experiencing targeted harassment but if so, it's going to be coming from another player or player group.

Typically from my experience if you're being singled out by someone then you did something to piss someone off. I'm gonna guess either were not getting the full story or someone that is selling the same item is just trying to scare off competition. Solely judging it off undercutting isn't enough though to assume it is targeted harassment and just sounds like paranoia, you'd need some form of admittance or threats by the people doing it. They might have just laughed at you thinking it's specifically aimed at you when they're hitting multiple different areas of the MB in reality. Asking a seller to stop selling and undercutting in this game though is a pipe dream.

As far as RMT goes, I highly doubt anyone who is actually neck deep in it would even sneeze at a random MB seller when their gil is farmed through other means (like Eureka) and their exchanges take place usually through mannequins these days because it's easier and no MB tax. Unless you're somehow affecting that market to the point that it's affecting their profits (which unless youre making billions isn't a likely situation), I wouldn't lean too much into that idea.

Not to say that it's the situation in your case but some bots actually do. Big FCs are an easy place to hide from attention.

But a big FC also isn't going to go out of its way to harass a random player. A random player doesn't have enough market power to make a difference. If they're using rude names on their retainers (which can be reported if the names are ToS violations), they're more likely to be rude for the sake of being rude to everyone who might look at their listings instead of targeting a single player.

Your best course of action is to ignore them. Even if they truly are trying to target you specifically, they can't stop you from posting your listings. Being undercut isn't a problem as long as the items you're listing are popular. And so what if they buy your items? Isn't that why they're listed - you want someone to buy? Stop paying attention to who's doing the buying and there's even less problem.

Yeah this seems weird. She claims they harass her and are rude but the only example is retainer names similar to hers? She doesn’t own the name and no one cares what the retainers name is they buy from so why would they bother. If they’re named *her retainer*eatsbabies or something THAT is reportable harassment but she hasn’t given any concrete examples of ANY behavior that’s a violation.

In fact two things she mentioned are "sending people to stand next to me at the market board," and "buying my items to relist and harass me." Anyone can come to the marketboard, and they can't SEE what you are doing by having their toon be physically present. And as for buying your items thats a good thing? Once they own it they are free to do whatever they want with it, including relist it. If you wanted more for it you should have listed it for more.

Someone I know has been having a very similar issue where they have figured out all of the names of his retainers and have been deliberately targeting his sales to a ridiculous extent, even driving prices down to where they would actually be taking a hit on their profits if the items sold because they would have bought them for more than they are selling them for. Like, we are talking about posting the same items that were originally listed for a market current price and selling them at a mere fraction of the cost just seconds after he's listed something. He thought it was a coincidence at first, but it has happened immediately after his listings went up too many times without fail and always by the same retainers. It's more than just listing sniping by a few dozen gil, if this person is buying from the market board, they are taking a deliberate profit loss. Being competitive is one thing, it's another when you are pretty much-following someone around and ruining the value of whatever they are selling. And apparently, he's not the only player who has been forced to seriously undervalue their sales because of this person if they want to be able to sell the items at all. When they drop out of the market board on that item, the retainer relists at a higher price. If they try selling again, the retainer hugely undercuts them again.
If that isn't targeted harassment, I don't know what it is.
