When they first told us to use the buff on ourselves. My first reply was to point out its better used on them since they are the one taking dmg.. But thats when they pointed out because they were a PLD. they didn't need it and dropped the clem line on us. I just said "as you wish..." and kept the buff to myself for the dmg I wasn't taking..... (after the run I had just gotten out of I didn't feel like an argument again)
and watched in sorrow as they really were using clem... a lot.. I also like how my random SMN co-dps. said "Oh yeah, I forgot" like this was actually a thing that should be happening..

Ran lv90 roulette as a BLM, got thrown into Stigma Dreamscape. WHM said "ignore adds" in party chat at final boss. The PLD asks them to elaborate; elaborate we did. They replied: "I disagree with the method but I'll do it."

To that PLD, I hope they did not took it personally. They have my respect for being upfront with their thought. Insta comm.

[...]...Followed that up by a 90 roulette on SMN... with a PLD who told me and the other SMN ...to "Be selfish with your phoenix" "my clem is more potent than your phoenix" ...which they used.. often.. during pulls.. lol... Battle crowned... btw..

How they think Clememecy's 1000p is more potent that SMN Rekindle's 1400p (also ability!) is beyond me...

Impatient people...

Temple of Quarn, brutal, I'm the tank. The dungeon goes on normally, despite a rather nervous rogue. I wall-to-wall, sprint between packs, but he stubbornly stays in front and pulls by himself. Which I can understand if I was doing pack by pack, but a bit less when I take as many mobs as physically possible. Well, a bit tiring, since he doesn't bother to come back to me afterwards. But it's not dramatic, and I can get the mobs back on me. So I continue without protesting more than that.

It's time for the second boss. Here, a little unforeseen event IRL: someone calls me. I stop, thinking that people would wait nicely (as usual, in fact). Time to quickly check the phone call, just to see that it's nothing important. I probably should have taken the time to note the "2s" in the chat, but I can see everyone stopping in front of the boss, showing that they had noticed I wasn't following... And inevitably, my little impatient rogue pulls when he sees that I'm not coming fast enough for his taste.

GOOD. I sit down quickly to aggro the boss. We make the fight, and at this moment I write in the chat that I need a little time IRL, that I return very quickly. No problem for the healer and the BLM, which are the highest in terms of level and stuff. For the rogue, however... That's another matter. During the thirty seconds I'm away from the screen, he has time to die once because he pulled by himself. Complaining, the bugger, because "it wasn't the first time I [me, the tank] did the dungeon", and apparently the healer had to follow him and follow the rhythm he had chosen himself.

... Then a second time, because he tried to stealth past one pack to attack the next. When I came back, we continued at the same pace; he joined us, spat on the ground in /emote, didn't say anything else for the whole instance and left as quickly as possible afterwards.

I don't know how to say this anymore, as it seems like common sense, but you don't play with bots. After several years of logging into FFXIV fairly regularly, I'm the first to understand the impatience felt when the tank doesn't pull much. Especially since I like to go fast, and almost never do pack by pack, except in special cases. All this does not prevent that, behind the avatar of the dps / healer / tank, there is a human. Someone who sometimes has to step away from the screen for certain reasons. If you can't stand a 30 second break in a dungeon that is otherwise completed as quickly as possible, to the point of sulking afterwards, don't sign up for PF.

It was a very rare moment long ago but I had a tank looking at me funny for using Curing Waltz during pulls and then somehow he blamed the healer because I used it despite being a normal run with both doing their job without issues

I always pop Curing after a stack marker finishes dishing out it's damage. Even if it's not needed, it's just a habit I got into after a few healers didn't bother back in ShB and people dropped to raid wides shortly after that stack.

I've had healers tell me to stop pulling as DNC as well, and it's usually only in dungeons where you have to trigger the mobs spawning before you can attack them(like in Alzadaal's Legacy, with the mobs in the first area, or the gates that sawn more mobs). I stopped running ahead until the tank themselves who say to go ahead...and the healer decides to not heal me. But that's what Second Wind and Curing Waltz are for. I just made sure they were out of range of my Shield Samba and Technical Step if possible.

I thought this was going to go a different way entirely at the start of your post. Good lord he sounds like an ass, y'all should have just kicked him instead of enabling him to get the clear. People like that don't deserve the carry, and you'll get a replacement very quickly.

All you do with it is something a healer's already doing. "Oh but it helps", no it doesn't, you're better off killing the stuff lowering your HP faster. All the heals you need are things I can provide. As OGCDs, no cost, and far more effective. Use defensive cooldowns, use regens if you can, those are fine. Clemency is not worth it. And if I catch you using it, I swear to you I'll play the world's cruellest "How low can you go" game you've ever laid eyes on.

Randoms and Sprouts don't need me giving them heart attacks. If they want to Clemency, they can Clemency, it's their crappy playstyle, and if I say something I'm breaking ToS.

Only time I use clemency is if both healers are down and there's still a chance of saving the run. I've definitely PLD healed a group to a clear on an extreme once or twice, and I've definitely seen a PLD save a run where it was just them and another tank, with the PLD using clemency to keep the other tank up lol.

I'm actually sad at how bad it is to cast clemency. I hate the idea of "here's a skill you should never use" so much.

I've seen both sides of this. I've come to have some trust issues with roulette healers, so I'm always ready to hit that spell if I absolutely need to. On the other hand, I could be healing a PLD, keeping them above 50% and they cast and I'm just facepalming.

My pet peeve is getting the random/sprouts who gives a "Why you no heal/Why am I doing your work"-response when this happens.
