So from your comments, what I am hearing is this sounds like something that would be very simple for them to fix. So one would have to assume the developers are being lazy.

And to this person: "The only "super valuable" mats are the treasure map drops used for crafting glamour gear. Since HQ makes no difference in the appearance of the glamour, you shouldn't be at risk of wasting them. Rinascita mats are easy to farm and replace in comparison. I wouldn't call them "super valuable". One hunt train, a half hour of gathering, and I've generally got enough to make 3 pieces of gear." I don't really care about your glamour, I was thinking more about the very hard to craft 610 gear which is worthless if it's not HQ.

It's not worthless if it's not HQ. It's just not worth as much. I occasionally screw up a step and end up with NQ. I list it on the MB at a reduced price and it always sell. Some players are more interested in meeting ilvl requirements to get into content than the stats on the gear (or perhaps they want it for *gasp* glamour) and they'd rather go for the less expensive option.

And if you think 610 gear is "very hard to craft", there's knowledge about the crafting system that you haven't acquired yet. None of it is hard, it is a math mini-game and there are plenty of tools created by other players for us to use to figure out the solution even for those not good at math. What we're fighting against is RNG. We can take our gear to an extreme level to counter act the RNG or we take our chances that the number generator ends up favoring us. That's not difficulty, that's luck. It's pretty much the same topic that comes up in the discussions about Expert crafting (give that a try before you call anything else crafting related "very hard").

Finally, about glamour: newly released glamour tends to sell for far more than current end game gear does. It can also stay at those high prices far longer. Some of the Calfskin glamour pieces are still selling for a million gil almost 2 years after it was introduced to the game. When's the last time you saw a piece of Rinascita selling for that much?

Why not? I guess I could understand it if someone is using the glamour in roleplay as a wealthy socialite or something similar, but when it comes to appearance it makes zero difference. Go cheap, save gil and be able to buy more pieces of glamour for other outfits.

Because I craft my own glam pieces when I want to make them and I refuse to accept anything less. That's just me though.

If you put it in the glamour dresser, doesn't it remove your name anyway..?

And if you sell it, doesn't it have to retain your name..?
