PF has a specific function called "filter by what you want" so choosing "All" and then complaining there's too much spam when it includes OTHER category which can be literally anything sounds like you are making it a problem.

Other means everything else, so they are putting it on the correct place, there's literally one advertising art

If you use PF to find groups for content then you dont use other, simple and easy.

As said already, there's way more than just nightclub spam held in the Other tab: photographers, omnicrafters, gatherers, people looking for someone to chat to, people selling things cheaper than MB, people trying to buy/sell workshop mats & hard to get furniture like Doman Enclave ones or past seasonal events....I can literally go on for a while.

You don't see any of them posting multiple ads for themselves or hiring others to do that, what gives nightclubs the excuse?

Bruh that's like not a Seraph thing, it's a whole game major city kind of thing. They have every right to use the shout chat as much as you. If you don't like it, then block them. If they are reportable, report them.

Also, keep in mind that none of the adverts on Zomkei's posts are tagged. Meaning they're all going to appear in the "Others" tab, because otherwise you'd have a little icon depicting what sort of content it is.

Meaning the spam is on the Others tab. Even if there is someone advertising art, they're one in a sea of these such ads.
And it very much is a spam. Catgirl Hooters appears in the first two, with different people putting up those ads.

I get there being multiple of these venues, and thus you'll naturally see many of these. But repeated ads starts making the problem larger.

It means dancing and drinking, which, yeah irl can lead to going home with someone, but more often, it means hanging out and having a good time with friends, which is what probably happens 90% of the time in Nightclub venues.

Nightclubs =/= RP or ERP. It's clubbing, or at the very least letting your braincells rot watching some random pretend to be a DJ while getting exploited by the staff at the same time.

There's a lot that would have to be changed for me to believe that it's any form of roleplay lol. As of right now all I see is a business where "an RP experience" is used to squeeze money out of patrons.

Ok, I didn't know about Balmung being THAT server when I joined but I leave for Seraph as soon as it was allowed and boom... here they are again, absolutely disgusting ads and ceaseless spam about adult topics and if you say a word against it YOU are the one with an account warning.

I love this game but I do not understand why this filth has to be in public channels ALL THE TIME.

Is there a server that has people focused on the game and not brothels and constantly putting down anybody who is not into that?

I know I can just turn off public chat but if I wanted to play a game alone I would not be on a MMO. I have played a LOT of MMOs and by FAR the worst about this is FF.

Most of the people you listed are people who work solo, photographer takes pics alone, omnicarfter/gatherer does their thing alone, same for people selling it - its one person selling it. Clubs usually consist of multiple people, just like FCs, so its normal those advertise more, since ultimately every person is entitled to advertise their thing.

I do the same with housing designs, I advertise, and I have my assistant do the same after 30 minutes when I start, for more exposure.

Alright, here's the thing... Clearly people aren't stupid. It's obvious that OP is referring to those spaces. In fact, I stand corrected! OP's own first post says as much:


The issue that we didn't know was what about it was filthy. Their existence? Or what was in the messages? But whenever asked, OP refused to elaborate. When I say that other people were incredulous, what I mean is that their responses were "wait, ok sure, those exist, but they're rather tame, no filthy language or anything explicit generally happens". HOWEVER given what you just wrote, you have a similar experience to what OP might have had. Which, yes, it does counter the incredulity a bit. This does happen, it seems, rare though it may be. And perhaps mockery for it wasn't the best approach.

For that I will at least apologize to OP for contributing to the mocking discourse.

However, I will also ask. Is "companions for the night" and stuff like that truly so bad? I mean, we obviously know what might happen. But that's what I'm legitimately curious about. If you asked ME if that was raunchy, even with me fully aware that it's about ERP, I'd say "no". In fact, I asked for a private "dance" at a venue once. I was 100% not interested in ERP, I just had a talk with the roleplayer. Literally nothing happened :x Also kinda helps that I'm a gay man IRL playing a Hrothgar and the other person was playing a Female Viera, I literally had zero interest to begin with xD (I just want to RP with text like normal T_T)
So for me, the language has nothing "filthy" about it. Hence why I don't understand the dilemma. Is it the action itself being presented? Because... I mean, don't we all know ERP happens in certain corners? :|

I'm telling you man, come make an RP alt on aether, you'll enjoy the RP community I'm part of, and it involves absolutely zero afking/emote spamming in venues while calling it RP and 100% actual RP scenes and plots. I'd even help you get the stuff you need for glam or whatever, I understand starting over sucks lol :P
