You misunderstand. Why is the game still checking if you are eligible after it’s open? Deleting his weapon should not change anything. What SHOULD have happened here is the game determined he couldn’t roll on it, he deleted his weapon, and the game still says he can’t roll on it because he wasn’t eligible when the roll started.

This is the biggest reason I doubt you because it seems silly that the game is even still checking at that point.

Because the only reason that prevents him from rolling is a technicality. You can't have two unique items in your inventory and this prevents you from rolling. Obviously if you remove the one in your inventory, you are free to roll. Game doesn't check someones' eligibility for loot outside of instance lockouts.

I agree with you, it's a flaw in game design.

Go in a extreme raid unsync as any job (lv50), get a coffer and open it, then try to roll a random weapon (you will have to do multiple kills until u get the same weapon) and try for yourself, you will see that the game only checks when you click on the "need/greed" button, same goes for every item in the game tbh, I don't think u can get 2 coffers even in old extremes so u can try with just that
