You'd be surprised to see how some FFXIV players are willing to eschew what are otherwise considered staple elements of storytelling such as character growth and conflict in the name of protecting their imaginary relationships with the game's characters.

Thinking back on the myriad characters that have accompanied us at some point on our journey, I can’t help shaking the idea that most of them are of the same mold. Level-headed, measured, righteous, logic. Basically, they're all lawful good. They all have small quirks, but you wouldn’t be able to call those "true personality traits".

What do you mean? On the contrary, I would say the current roster of Scions has all the major anime types covered. The regular Joe Schmoe's we meet along the line are definitely all cut from the same cloth, which is a big reason why when one them says, "Hey, remember me?" You're like, "Nopeeee." The personality traits of the Scions helps to differentiate from ordinary NPCs.

That doesn't mean we couldn't use a fresh and new personality among them though. Someone like Sade is better in small doses, and we also already know who she is, and what she's about. A fresh personality will require a fresh face.

A beastman. A crackpot goblin tinkerer could be a lot of fun, especially if they get into heated arguments with Cid. Cid's mounting frustration as he spouts technobabble at a Goblin speaking as a Goblin does could test the limits of Science.

If not a goblin, then maybe a local beastman from wherever we go next. Basically don't limit the scions to playable races. We have an infinite potential cast.

Pretty much what everyone wants. except the character isn't necessarily attached to our/WoL-D's Hip.

new characters need to have their endgoals. They might just tag along cause our path leads them to their goal, or to keep an eye out for other reasons.

They can Split off and turn, or return and etc.
