Venue/club advertisements have become a massive nuisance

Man, it's even worse than you think. I saw people in Limsa using /shout to "recruit shouters 300.000gil/hour" for their venues. My blacklist is almost full from PF now I have to blacklist people spamming venue ads + people being paid to shout them?
It's too much chat flood now and unless you remove "shout" from ur tab you can't do anything about it

Venue advertising is almost as obnoxious as content selling ads use to be before SE finally put an end to it. Though I almost lowkey preferred those guys more cause at least they engaged with the game and had to be good at it. Venues just buy up the housing market and distribute the homes among their members to make an "rp ward".

I have mine disabled in my custom chat bar because half the times its some random language advertising their FC. its not even english, usually german, dutch, or french. i find it more annoying than club advs

He's an easy solution, go somewhere else besides the 3 starting cities. But SE does need to enforce a one PF listing policy. Stop the PF spam

Leaving the three starting cities doesn't stop it when you find it in places like Old Sharlayan, Eulmore, Radz-At-Han, Idyllshire, Kugane, Mor Dhona, the starting zones outside of the main cities like the Shrouds, La Noscea and Thanalan. There isn't a safe spot from it, wherever people are in some form of crowd is a target audience for runners. I actively avoid the three main cities outside of FC turn ins and still somehow manage to get an ad out in Tamamizu. Like...what?

Idk if every DC is like this but for Aether at least, it's everywhere.

I guess those people really like spam phonecalls. They probably defend the people "well if you don't like them you can just ignore them"

It happens on Primal too. We get people from all DataCenters coming over to advertise. This is another case for not having cross-region travel.

Ever since data centre travel has become a thing, the venue shouts have become worse than ever: they never stop and they’ve extended to pretty much everywhere save to instanced areas.

Most of the time, the advertisements are awfully long and sometimes they even comprise more than one post and entirely fill your chat window. It is rude, inconsiderate and annoying and my blacklist is now full.

Having to turn off the shout channel is not a solution as it is used for other things too such as hunts. Then, there is PF spam too...This endless spam has to stop and SE should take action such as give them a separate place for their spam as it has now become a permanent nuisance.

At least with phone calls I can put myself on a do not call list.

Clubs are fun. And if the club advertisements annoy you then use the block list.

Telling us to block doesn't work because there's no end to the different characters that come through.
Telling us to disable / move shout isn't helpful either. People do use that for things like hunts and asking for help.

Why can't there be just one spot where people can go for advertisements, so the rest of us can steer clear if we're not interested?
