Hildibrand for relic? Really?

I actually really liked Bozja because you could level, get tomes and grind for gear alongside the relic.

I also loved Eureka, but I understand why people don't want to grind a set of zones that is entirely separated from the rest of the game.

The only things I specifically didn't like with relics were running every single dungeon in order with the relic equipped and light farming.

Yeah - I mean, I'm not saying I dislike Bozja in itself but, so far as grinding for Crystals is concerned, the fact that they were not a guaranteed drop and you could do numerous FATES without actually receiving one, is really frustrating and I do prefer being able to obtain Relic items via predictable, guaranteed, 'currency'.

It was the same in ARR with the Atma. You could go 50+ FATE without getting a single one, heck even with the buffed drop rate there is still that possibility(I think the crystals for the HW relic are that same and can go multiple without getting a crystal).

They could always go the Eureka route, and make you need tons of the crystals per weapon(iirc it was way more than 5k crystals for all weapons...lost the calculations I had somewhere, and basically gave up getting those done for now).

Now we're back to people complaining that it's an ARR/HW type grind.

I wanna ask, what EXACTLY is wanted from a relic grind because it seems like some dont actually know.

I do remember how much Eureka was disliked here (I was part of that crowd. Its the only relic I never finished) but Bozja was a bit more well received because one could do the relic outside of it. (At least for some parts...) In the end though those who dont like the Endwalker relic might not be the same who complained about Bozja and Eureka in the past. We do have different groups of people here.

For me though I like the ARR and HW structures way more. Some of the grind like the books would have been fine if instead of having a certain fate we would just have to grind a certain amount in a certain region. I just like that you can get your relic by doing the various amount of old content the game has to offer. I really hate it being restricted to one new map because most of the time its bascially just fate grinding with a new name.

So for me lets return to the relic where you are bascially "forced" to keep old content alive. And not tuck it into its own little corner with no touching points to the rest of the game.

Wasn't the biggest complaint about Bozja back then was the forced Ivalice raids?

as someone doing all of a zone has to offer..
the job armors took something like 3000protean, 750 Anemos(per job) armor set.<can't bother calculating, but for a weapon it was much less protean, and only needed 3 Paz on top of that per weapon, and no anemos>

then for pagos weapons zone, it was 500 Pagos, 5 Lou, 31 Frost.(x15 weapons, and you got a zone most will say to not do at once. but they do so, cause they care. I "coped" through all weapons at once with socializing in the zone)
making it 7500pagos, 75 lou ice, 465 Frost Protean.

for Relics, the grind can kick in, in any stage. though a low entry barrier of tomes is very appreciated, just as much as some appreciate the week delay on Savage.
[the fact you have to do Hildibrand, is not a obstacle, it's just content you've yet to complete. just like any other old content.]

Yeah. "Saved" the game. That was years ago, the goodwill is no longer valid. But hells, watch me laugh amongst the flames as his recent design decisions tank the game like the WoW of Eld that he so idolizes.

In other words....no matter what, they cant win.
-They do something: People complain
-They try a new thing: People complain
-They try something completely new taking in feedback: People complain, saying how its locked to 1 system and its slow
-They retry it, taking in feedback allowing more paths to goal: People complain, say they liked old way
-Do something else: People complain it should be like last time

Au contraire, I'd argue that they HAVE won and have since been winning for time immemorial. Even when its arguably undeserved. What with the leagues of defenders at the ready and in reserve no matter how badly they cock things up and how it's virtually a cardinal sin to say anything bad lest the Eorzean Inquisition catch wind of one's heresy.

It's more about how the content has absolutely no future-proofing to speak of while requiring multiple large party instances to fully complete. So for anyone trying to catch up on it now, you either go outside of the game to find a group, try your luck with Party Finder, or you're just kinda SOL.

Yeah, that was one of the biggest issues with it being the way it is. Sure, if only a few people are in those instances the stats are massively boosted, but it still isn't quite enough to make it doable for anyone who comes along later to do it.

Eureka wasn't much better, the FATEs don't seem to scale as much as the Bozja stuff, and you still need a crap ton of crystals just for one weapon. Last time I tried to do some Pyros(a few weeks ago), the three times I tried going in there were 3-4 other people, and nobody was outside of the settlement.

Kay, you have fun with these weird ideas you have about FFXIV and YoshiP, and Ill go back to playing the game.
Its not perfect, nothing is, but the game isn't tanking or going like WoW. I think thats just Hyperbole people like to run with just because they dont like things.
