Welcome to toxic casualism. Can't say I'm surprised you're a grayletWhy cause I say, you don't have to tell anyone how to play?
Aslong I pay my Sub, I play how I want.
If you don't like it, well I have PayPal and for a whopping 45,59 Euro you can deceide how i should Play this Game.
Otherwise, shut your mouth and keep your Brainfart for yourself.
None has the right to critisize other Players for their Playstyle.
Again, I invented nothing. If you aren't going to read then don't reply, that includes your tooltipsAyy, I'll reply this properly but its kinda tiring.
I said I struggled making the switch from Summoner to Scholar because my Summoner was Lv60-odd and I hadn't touched Scholar before that, so it felt in at the deep end, and that I don't think co-levelling two totally different jobs from one class is a good idea. You then took that and invented some rubbish about not reading tooltips and terrible, terrible, terrible. I didn't say it was an utter shitshow and I didn't know what I was doing, it was just rough and I didn't feel SE's design was the best. You invented that yourself.
You did exactly the same thing in our first exchange in the parser thread, going off on some weird tangent about hating each other because I don't agree about how FFXIV should handle something, and even when I told you that you were being ridiculous, you carried on with it.
Like, seriously. You aren't coming across as a knowledgeable player with this stuff, you're coming across as a bit... dunno... unhealthy.
In regards to the second point, I tend to pay more attention to what my own job is doing. While you're right, playing XIV is easier than learning to drive a car, the point still stands. You do not learn how to play a job well from reading tooltips and watching others. You learn through doing, otherwise nobody would ever wipe. Just read some tooltips and watch a few YT videos and you'll clear the entire MSQ and Extreme Trials flawlessly. Except, thats not what happens because thats not how it works.

I'm curious what hopes to be accomplished with this thread to be honest. Like was any solution brought up as to what could realistically be done to assist players in learning their rotations or otherwise teach them the game? Cause, if yall want people to play as they should, there kinda needs to be a reason for them to do so. As much as basic competency should be expected, it's a game and people will play how they want. Kicking someone doesn't always produce motivation to improve and with how reporting works, I don't blame anyone for being paranoid to speak up about it.
As far as the ongoing argument about learning new classes/healers/whatever, people learn in many different ways. Some do best with graphs or charts, some do best with videos, some do best with simply reading, doing the task itself, repetition, shadowing someone....I can go on. There's no right or wrong way to learn as long as the material is ultimately understood at the end of it. So, what works best for one person might not work well for someone else and that's okay. Just something to keep in mind.

There will always be someone out there who goes into a dungeon and doesn't ever heal, or doesn't use their AoEs, or doesn't turn on tank stance. And yet, for some reason we keep seeing these examples of someone who, despite months if not years of perfectly normal roulette runs, has 1 bad experience in leveling roulette and decides to write on the forums how that's indicative of an epidemic that is going to destroy FFXIV as we know it. No one will ever be able to clear a dungeon ever again because 1 player didn't use their AoEs in 1 leveling roulette.
The world is fine, and people not using AoEs is not an epidemic. Some players are bad at video games, news at 11.
Even a single player not doing the basics is an issue. And it's far from a single player, there's hundreds of themI don't think anything really can come from threads like these.

I mean is it though? I can’t remember the last time a random DF group couldn’t clear whatever we were doing in the allotted time. Sure, mighta been a few wipes or some dumb mistakes or just a low effort player..but it’s not like I didn’t finish what I wanted. At worst I lost maybe 10 minutes.
Would I rather not lose 10 minutes? Sure. Would I rather keep those 10 minutes and lose that 5% of casual players (and their much desired revenue to further develop the game)? Certainly not.
This game is just a theme park. Sometimes you ride the hardcore coaster, sometimes it’s a boat cruise, sometimes there are long lines…and sometimes technical difficulties or bad “guests”.
If you are talking about certain behaviors being inexcusable in endgame, I can’t comment on that as I don’t do that…other than to say you are certainly well within your rights to form a group with expectations and remove those who don’t fit them,
Random PUGs? Not so much. I don’t mind wasting a few extra minutes if it means someone who is game-challenged is having a good time. Hopefully they would feel encouraged to get better too.

I think the point of this thread is to just inform griefers of what people think about them because doing so in game risks getting banned. The truth is no one wants to play with them and it would be a blessing if they did something else instead of playing with real players. This isn't school, it's not other players responsibility to motivate other players to read like a teacher would. If they don't want to, I don't care. They can play solo, quit, craft, stay on the island/Limsa, find a premade, play with the apologists who will coddle them, whatever they want to. I simply won't play with them until they read their tooltips or ask for help.I'm curious what hopes to be accomplished with this thread to be honest. Kicking isn't meant to produce motivation to improve. It's to get rid of them. What they do after being kicked is their choice since it's their sub after all.
