Yeah, the only time there's ever been an actual aetheric limitation to someone's body mentioned for a job is Summoner, where it's mentioned that we basically just can't fit a Ramuh-Egi in us.

That very same Job questline then goes on to have an Allagan machine fail to scan the WoL's aetheric density signature, which ultimately ends in failure. I personally took it to mean our aetheric levels were so unprecedentedly high that they couldn't be properly vetted by advanced Allagan tech, highlighting what a monster in combat the protagonist is. One more drop in the "FFXIV fails the narrative consistency test" bucket, I guess...

Maybe; I kinda saw it as a tongue in cheek reference towards so many isekai/fantasy manga where the hero gets tested for their power level and ends up breaking the magic ball/mirror/crystal/whatever because their power is “zomg over 9000!”
