Actually those were the marmots you killed at the start. The Loporrits are actually so protected by plot armor that even if you could eat them you'd be hungry two seconds later as they rapidly reform and forget ever being eaten. They're basically Cell but adorable and actually perfect.

Wait... you've given me the perfect idea! Just like you said, the Lopporits I hunted did indeed reform. However, due to my even greater plot armor as the main character, I was able to lock them up in cages. Now I can harvest meat for stew and they'll just regenerate every time! The perfect scheme! Everyone, we have PLENTY of rabbit stew if you want some.

However, due to my even greater plot armor as the main character, I was able to lock them up in cages. Now I can harvest meat for stew and they'll just regenerate every time! The perfect scheme!
