Anyone else just feeling really disapointed this expansion?*vent*

Pretend? It's right there to see. Out of every place I've been the forums are easily the most negative place. Everywhere else IS mostly postive.

My sweet summer child the OF is like a small percentage of negative power to some of the other FF XiV forums out there.

I browse Reddit, Im nowhere near as stupid as to JOIN it. Facebook, Insta all that media? I dont have ANY of it. Hell I dont even have a TV anymore, and my life is SO much more peaceful. Pro tip, its called the idiot box for good reason.

ANYONE who for one moment takes any of social media as any kind of metric as far as the game is concerned? Nope.

Seriously, for your own mental health, get rid of all of it.

Twitter? Good GOD that place is a cesspool, I took one look and nope nope nope....why would I take ANYTHING they said without a grain of salt the size of the Titanic?

The forums here are negative, whiny, some of the hot takes are quite frankly, ludicrous, the idea that this place is in any way reflective of the game as a whole is, lets shall we say..badly flawed. I have played on three separate servers, ( four if you count an emergency alt on an OS server in case OCE has hiccups ) , and NOWHERE except here have I heard a fiftieth of the negative attitudes seen here. The idea that EW was 'catastrophic" is downright hyperbole, everywhere I see happy busy players, sprouts everywhere..both sprouts and returners TBH, so no, the game isnt in a state people here seem to believe it is.

Endwalker HAS been praised universally, and barring a few areas that, admittedly, do need improvement ( yes, follow quests I am looking at YOU, so stop hiding up the back ) has been an incredible experience.

Island sanctuary? i am taking my time and slowly adding stuff, an hour there an hour there, I LITERALLY see no reason to do it all at warp ten..whats the rush?

It aint going anywhere. Really..to burn through it fast and then say what else is there? Why do that at all?

I ask honestly: what the HELL is the hurry??

Story? Ive already said how much I loved the main MSQ, I am looking forward to so much more. Hard to get past ARR? Not according to sprouts who , again, are not cynical or jaded and are working their way through it in their own time..as it should be.

FF 14 in general , Endwalker in specific, is a masterpiece of gaming, story and a load of options to suit everyone. The game is immensely popular, well received and enjoyed by millions.

So why read them? if they are that negative, and their attitudes sour you on the game, why bother? Why inflict that kind of negativity on yourself? When you are around that kind of attitude for long enough, it rubs off on you..so why?

If you want to love the expansion, that's on you. No skin off my bones. Just let others have the room to dislike it because a lot of the criticism i see is also valid, especially when it comes to housing being too limited and jobs being gutted to suit an audience that doesnt want to put in effort to learn a rotation. It won't hurt you, promise.

Didn’t you just like 2 pages ago not to express your opinions as fact calling it “projection” (which is not even what projection is but let’s leave that be)

Besides if you don’t own or browse any of those media outlets how do you know that the game is universally acclaimed, this is to say nothing of you just making straight up false assumptions about how other people may or may not interact with the game

A man was walking on the road to Rome, at the ten mile marker before the gates, he ran into an old man. "I am going to Rome, sir" the traveller said "Can you tell me what i will find? I am there to sell my wares and to maybe make some new friends"

The old man scoffed

"Oh you will hate Rome, get in and get out fast, I say. The people are mean, nasty, venal, the markets will rob you blind, keep your purse close as there are pickpockets everywhere, if you are robbed dont ask the patrol to help, they will want a bribe too. The Senate is evil, corrupt, only there for their own gain so I say to you, get in, do your business and leave as soon as you can."

The traveller paused, sighed, and went on his way.

His stay in Rome was every bit as horrible as he had expected, a patrol rudely pushed past him, he barely made a profit as the buyers in Rome were misers and rude and arrogant, he saw a Senator in his robes, imperiously ordering the peasants about, dirty children ran in the streets....fearing for his life, he did what he had to, and fled the city, never to return.

Two days later, another traveller met the same old man at the same marker on the Via Romanus

"I am going to Rome, sir" the traveller said "Can you tell me what i will find? I am there to sell my wares and to maybe make some new friends"

The old man leaned on his cane and beamed

"Oh WELCOME to Rome, good traveller, I cant wait for you to see the markets, the are the heart and soul of the city, the buyers are wary but good people, they like to haggle but they also want to make sure that traveling traders return, so they will always set a fair price. There are patrols in the city, but they are there to protect you, so be not afraid...remember to visit the Senate, the very pinnacle of just and wise rule. Enjoy your stay, young man, all roads lead to Rome"

He entered the city., was greeted warmly by the guards who briefly asked him his business, and assigned a young private to guide him there. The city was warm, vibrant, alive and happy. Halfway he was indeed robbed by a pickpocket urchin, who was then caught quickly and his purse returned by a legionary who apologised for this to happen to a welcome guest.

As he entered the markets, he spied a Senator moving through the crowds, busy but politely asking for a way past. The Senator saw him and spoke to him with a smile, telling him with a wink to visit the old tavern close to the markets and to mention his name for a free drink. The traveller had an incredible time at the markets, not only making a profit but securing to his surprise a small partnership to buy his wares every time he came back.

He left the city for home reluctantly, one day vowing to become a Roman citizen.

This endless debate about what the majority think is incredibly boring and never leads anywhere.
Complaints about EW would still be legitimate even if only one person on Earth hated the expac.

I liked Endwalker from a story perspective, but I didn't like the repetitiveness of gameplay that has been going on at least since Heavensward (maybe arguably since ARR, but it was a lot more diverse back then).

I don't understand why they don't want to experiment and try new things at least up until recently anyway, maybe they understood the situation now hopefully?
