Female Hrothgar as a playable race. Show your support!

Alas I don't even own a computer much less have one capable of using mods. Nobpandora's box for me T∆T

(heck, the only reason I have a ps5 is because it was a gift from my uncle who wasn't using his.)

I wish we could mod on consoles. Apparently it's doable for other games like skyrim. I understand why it would never happen. but it's still a bummer.

I do wonder, however, when the race comes out, will Square add content/NPCs to promote it like they did with Male Viera? Like, no offence to Male Viera players, or Vieras overall. But their major justification was that "they're too rare to appear", yet Endwalker made two rather prominent NPCs, even within the MSQ itself. I know Viera is a bit more popular in general and garners more attention, but will the same be afforded to Female Hrothgar?

I always found it funny how ingame Viera and Hroth lores are....reversed? and I'm willing to bet it's because of race popularity/promotional material.

ShB and EW: there's a Viera just casually walking down the street every 20 ft, without a single soul even addressing how, why, or when they all left their forest, as if they were always there.

ShB and EW: there's like, 10 Hrothgars in the entirety of the game outside Bozja, with 3 of them having a prominent appearence and 2 of those conveniently playing the 'dead wife' trope.

Usually new races are displayed a lot in job quests quest an expansion comes out(Like DRK and WHM in HW with Au Ras, GNB in ShB with F Viera/ M Hrothgar and SGE in EW with M Viera)

Of course IF Female Hrothgar comes out in 7.0

Pretty much. Like, we get that you don't have the females ready, Square. But at no point did they do that for Viera; instead they had the lore excuse that Male Viera are too secluded. Which begs the question: why bother mention female Hrothgar in the first place? Because then you need to provide a decent enough excuse, and if the only thing you can write is "dead lmao", then it starts to reek. Really hard.

And this brings up a question I keep asking: Why make Misija and Gunnhildr the main focus of Bozja if YOU KNEW it was going to crap out like that?

Because here's the thing about Misija. Either:
a) She was created with a Female Hrothgar model in mind, but didn't have the assets so they just went for Roegadyn at the last minute. In which case, just don't use her at all. Go for another antagonist. Or just change her name entirely.
b) Female Hrothgar weren't even planned whatsoever, and Misija was indeed a Roegadyn with a Hrothgar name. It has zero precedents, as we see no other Roegadyn with that nomenclature around, and it's low key insulting that Square thinks this is okay and doesn't reek of exceedingly low expectations.

My headcanon was that Misija was a Female Hrothgar who consumed a Fantasia but didn't pay for a name change.

For all of you who play a large race but have a Lalafell name, worry not, Square made it canon anyway. Lore? What's that?

Hell, it's the same for Viera names! "Pfft, you can just ignore the lore tbh, Viera can rename themselves to whatever they want". So ASKJFALKSEJ AKJRWE? Canon name. Pee-Pee Poo-Poo? Canon Viera name. ''''''''' '''''''''? Canon name! A Viera called Trachynbhrat Nebwyda*? Canon!! So why wouldn't a Roegadyn have a lion name? And why wouldn't the Hrothgar Queen of Bozja be a big furless human? Totally inconspicuous, eh?

*References to real player characters called Trachynbhrat Nebwyda are purely co-incidental, I just took it from a Roegadyn Name Generator tool online. No Roegadyn were harmed in the making of this post.

We need better than this. And we need more support than this. I'm happy for Viera having NPCs like Erenville, and I daresay we need a bit more on the female side as well. I know they're rare, but we literally travel all over the world, we're bound to find more female viera than males, statistically speaking. And I think that happened mostly, if not entirely, because fans showed overwhelming support for Male Viera. Where is that for Female Hrothgar? When the few times Square had the chance to present literally anything, they snubbed it?

This race keeps getting done dirty, and the devs do nothing to change it. And I keep saying it: the way this community reacts toward Hrothgar sometimes excuses that sort of writing. For someone who enjoys the race and plays it, it feels really bad.

Yeaaaah...ffxiv has a track record of not caring about actually following lore. Look at the au race and how badly they portrayed them in the mess that was Stb. Or Miqo'te tribes, where according to lore the Nuuhn are NOT supposed to lead. What did we get in game? Both tribes shown have males leading. etc.

The viera from the First I don't mind. different shard different lore. but it is odd to see so many Viera npc in End. And I say that while hypocritically playing as a Viera. I just assume the Sharlyan npc are all the second or third generation exiles.

But yeah. Poor Hrothgar. Every single but of their lore seems to have been ignored. they're so poorly done I wonder why they made them at all. Viera I understand, since players had been pushing for them since they showed concept art way back before Heavensward came out. Since they were considered instead of au ra. But a deformed Ronso with none of the Lore?

I do hope we get some Hrothgar love soon. And that the femgar won't be as half added as their male counterparts were. Who knows, maybe the whole race will get an overhaul for when the gals arrive.

I sure hope so! It would be great to have at least one NPC that has voice lines. The Yugiri treatment would be ideal, but even a Fran or Erenville treatment would be appreciated! I just hope for some good representation for when they will be announced!

It's most likely not gonna happen, but I'm hoping against hope that Yoshi P will at least give us a small, tiny teaser about them. Even a mere "We're working on them but we can share anything yet, please look forward to them" would be more than enough to appease my turbulent heart.

Likely not, a better time to show off anything would be during the hype campaign for the next expansion; showing off the new things being added.

But of course....Id REALLY love to see them to, or even some vauge concept art. Ugh the wait is killing me. Plus I REALLY wanna dispell, or see if Im wrong about the Mural and that book art (im still not convinced either are definitive....but need proof im right or wrong) There have been many debate and conversation about how theyd look. A glimps at the face at the VERY LEAST would just be....amazing
