I'm gonna give you a response you do not want, heard a lot, and are tired of hearing: if you want solo play a console rpg. Lots to do, always crap to fight, and plenty of gear to collect. Oh and it has a really cool story! Lots of awesome cutscenes..you cant go wrong.
Seriously though, asking for more solo content in a "Massively Multiplayer Online RPG" is like asking for multiplayer content on "insert random console rpg here". Sure they might throw in a feature (Pokemon games, Dragon Quest IX, etc.), but in general the game won't go out of its way to add more content like that. The point of an MMO is, obviously, cooperative play: solo content is more or less a bone they throw out to ppl short on time. You want solo? Play some Skyrim.
If you're bored, you should be asking for more party content lol. Solo content is just not the focus of an MMO.
Your analogy doesn't work for MMORPG games like EVE Online, Star Trek Online, and even FFXI because they all have content/events for solo players to participate in.
Well duh there always exceptions, and varying levels of solo content...but where is the majority of the content in those MMO games? Party Play. Duh, its an MMORPG. If solo content was the focus it wouldnt be, derp, an MMORPG.
I'm being snarky but the point is that while games may add solo content, it is generally not the focus. Whether you like my analogy or not, if your focus is more on solo content dont look for it in an MMORPG. If I want to go snowboarding the first place I'm gonna go isn't going to be Africa. I mean seriously. They might build a few artifical snow resorts somehow, but i'd be much better off hitting up Alaska or Canada. That was the point of the post, in case you missed it lol
I gave you 3 irrefutable factual examples from MMORPG games that I play. In EVE you have corporations but there is content you can solo as well. You have options, the more options the better because you pull a wider audience.Well duh there always exceptions, and varying levels of solo content...but where is the majority of the content in those MMO games? In all of those examples the majority of the content is geared towards multiplayer, but yes they do have a nice selection of solo content. That doesn't change the fact that the focus of those MMO's has always been on the multiplayer side. By focus, I mean where the majority of the resources are devoted to. If it was the other way around, as in the focus was on solo play but had a nice selection of multiplayer content (Dragon Quest IX), it would not be called an MMO.I gave you 3 irrefutable factual examples from MMORPG games that I play. I read those examples, which is why I asked where the main focus was in those games. It was multiplayer, since that is where the majority of the content was.
Actually her analogy is right. You might think its silly of me to compare a video game to sports but technically they are games as well... and well you don't play Football or Basketball to play by yourself. Yes you can throw a football around or shoot hoops but then you are not playing the game of football or basketball, you are doing something similar.
Same goes for MMO's most people/gamers are here to be part of a community like athletes are a part of theirs.
