Eureka Bots are generating 280m gil a day with platinum pieces

Shibi can attest to how many times the materia bots have been reported and i have complained about them on the forums...

Square enix will never do anything to stop bots because they do it in places that are out of the public eye.

It would end up in "namecalling" and "harassment", it's more likely that the streamer gets banned for said action than the bots. This is the world we live in.

Given that there are people selling houses for hundreds of dollars out there and nothing gets done I'm not sure banning bots is that high on the agenda. Heck you can send a report saying the data centre, the house number and a direct link to the message advertising it for sale and nothing ever happens.

Theres a large plot in shirogane going for $1600 if anybody feels like treating themselves. Sounds like a bargain actually, get your whole free company to chip in a little cash each and you could have a house!

Obviously the devs cant ban the player as its almost certainly being sold through an alt account but how hard would it be to remove ownership of the house and put it up on the lottery?

if SE were to do anything.... they will, as someone said, remove platinum pieces instead of actually doing anything about the root problem.

I also agree that SE would be more likely to ban the streamer for calling attention to their problem than doing anything to actually fix the issue.

It just sounds like a massive pain in the neck to handle it tbh. For example, they take down the house and remove it but the person selling the house is someone who hacked the original owner. So now Square is in a situation where they just removed a house and put it on lottery from someone who wasn't even the original owner, so what does said hacked person do if they get access back to their account but are now missing the house? What if they get back too late and someone already bought the house through lottery? Who gets the rights to the house then? The original owner or the one who just bought it through lottery?

I never get a response from the support desk and clearly nothing is being done. Armies of people probably all using the same hacking software for multiple expansions and they face zero repercussions. I even have started putting albums of screenshots in my support desk reports but I doubt even then they'd do anything.

reports going to the support desk are useless. they can't do anything about them. you have to report direct to the STF. there is an obscure link somewhere in the online help website, but i don't remember where it is.

When popular community sites have RMT ads front and center, is it any wonder that bots are an issue? It seems obvious that fighting bots just isn't a priority for SE.
