Both figures are far lower than the price increase of this set. If Square Enix were to increase the sub price to fit even the much-higher American inflation rate, the sub fee would only increase by $1. It would take almost two years of paying a higher-priced sub to equal the purchase of a single fat cat set.
I thought people were concerned about the increase to the price of a glamour set, not the full price of the set. If the sub fee increased $1/mo but the price increase is $4, that's only 4 months.

The next question would be when was the previous time a price increase was implemented on comparable sets - and what would even be a comparable set in the first place. Was this set originally released in China or Korea like most of the non-cosplay sets, or is it a rare occasion of a set getting an initial release to JP/NA/EU?

Doesn't change that if you don't like the price, you have the option to not buy the product. You don't need it to play any part of the game.

One can also wait a year for the sale price.

They could increase the cost of everything. Would you prefer that? Or is it better to do what they've chosen to do and just increase the price of newly introduced items compared to comparable items already being sold?
And increasing the price of items that, to copy you, "not every player" wants/buys would magically fix that? (*´▽`*)
That's also imply we know SE is raising their employees' pay and that the cash shop's profits are being funneled into doing that.

It's called acting in your own best interest as a consumer. The behaviour you describe is the very reason why gaming is going downhill. It started with horse armour and people said the same thing and here we are.

Gonna be real this is an utterly wild excuse to use for this tbh
Like, they're a AAA gaming company out to make money
This isn't like forcing your buddy from art class to draw your OC on threat of breaking his glasses or some nonsense, this is a company making a business decision based on customer feedback
If their desire to not add them was more than what they thought to gain, they wouldn't have added them at all

I'm personally glad they are just selling the emote instead of forcing me to earn it in Bozja for too high a price. Farming is so horrifically boring and I almost never do it in general. This way, it's not locked off to me through time sink and I can just buy it quickly and be done with lol.

You haven't been paying attention to Hrothgar threads, have you? That sort of sentiment, that "having to go through every piece of clothes in the past and apply that same scrutiny in future additions would be a lot of work" was brought up every week. We know that, we even came up with reasons to justify it. All the time. Just read StormChurro's posts half the time on those threads. But there's a specific limit to how much we should be allowed to take. Removal of racial features is already a bit sketch, but the fact that it also glitches on top is the line I personally draw. Especially if they're gonna charge this much for something like that.

    And EXCUSE ME?

Please don't smoke the Gysahl Greens, they are not for you.

They didn't even want to make these races, but were pressured into it.
    but were pressured into it
    pressured

That is not what happened, Yoshida himself admitted that when Hrothgars were announced xD

He said they wanted to make Hrothgar out of a desire to have a Bestial race after he saw how popular Lupines were, and that Viera were added due to fan demand xD That was repeated over and over in the Hrothgar hair threads, and I see people still haven't gotten it! Well here you go, have a source.

Only one of those races was done due to pressure, and it was Male Viera xD No one pressured the devs to do female Viera, the fans asked for it and showed interest. Hrothgar on the other hand weren't even asked for, they just up and did them on their own. Some people might have casually mentioned how cool it'd be to have the Ronso, but they're no different than people who ask for Nu Mou or Aegyl, and even if they did, casual mentions aren't the same as feedback. And Viera were a product of feedback because people were spamming their designs for a Male Viera from "FATE in Tokyo" since Heavensward!

Why do you think Hrothgars got blamed for "stealing Male Viera" to begin with? XD it's because no one asked for them!! If they worked under pressure like you said, they'd only have given us Viera, not Hrothgar at all.

What "pressure"? You sound like those people who lump everyone and insist Hrothgars did :crab: Male Viera :crab:, when I'm willing to bet not even Viera were doing that themselves. No one pressured anything back in Shadowbringers, worst there was was a lot of people discussing the inclusion of Vieras into the game and expressing that they'd love it. Saying the playerbase "pressured" the devs is so irresponsible it really is an argument used by those who either don't know any better or have a grudge against the races' inclusions.

Also, "a slow process of getting all that to be compatible with gear", uhhh it's called "commitment"? : ) As in, you decided to do this and implement it into the game, why are you skimping out on it now? Especially since not a single time did the devs call them Limited Races, that was a community meme. And especially since they claim to want to "spare no expense" for player experience. Well, some players are experiencing less than others, but slay queens. I parrot this yet again: the company worked under Agile Development. This is my source, though it's indirect; he mentions a term from Agile Development from time to time, which is how you know that's what the devs follow. Pay attention to him saying "スプリント". I assume that's what they're still doing, because it's a bloody standard in the industry, I'd honestly be surprised if they changed it. And if you're working with that, odds are you know how much work is going to involve and you'll allocate resources accordingly for the Sprints it'd require. If stuff is constantly like this, it's because they haven't wanted it to change. It wouldn't have gone past the final Sprint if they did. It's been 3 years, if they "worked under fan pressure" like you imply, this'd have been sorted ages ago.

I also haven't seen anything be more compatible with gear for 3 years, we're all still wearing the same things because new stuff isn't being done to accomodate us at all. And a lot of models simply reuse older models. This nun-like bag we're getting over our heads that hides hairs and facial features is based on technology that's already present in the game.

This was a very dangerous assumption to make, given how quick people are to jump the gun and draft random crap to deny those races' feedback. We've been alerting to this behaviour for months now. And I know you know this, Dev. Because you interacted in those threads. You've read all this.

Ya got me. A slight error on a subject I frankly have little interest in. I interacted in maybe one thread, said my piece and left. It's long forgotten. I can only keep track of so much.

I know the announcement is out there in the LL section detailing their plans for the new races... It took them 3 years to get to this point. Don't expect any rush in progress. I think the separate hood was even made to accommodate said races.

I see AAA and small indie mentioned so much. I'm told I'm making excuses while people are making a ridiculous amount of requests and having super high expectations. Every place has their limits.

"Slight error" would be a massive understatement. Might have been best to just avoid discussing a subject you clearly know nothing about.

Something about the hood seems off. It looks unfinished, even. Also, separate gloves from the top would have made me consider buying it. C'est la vie.
