I fully suspect that the end of April can be considered a firm date. Yoshida is already planning for Ver1.22a so I suspect a number of small items will be pushed back til tthen in order accomplish the main release on time. Actually this is sooner then I thought it would happen and it sounds like the Dev Team has learned from the previous patches. Kudos. This should really be an ongoing bet thread. How much gil are you willing to put up that an end of April release is not going to happen? :P
But in all seriousness, this was one of the better LFtP. I enjoyed reading it and was very intrigued by the Hamlet Defense concept. A little let down with the weapons being in 1.22a, but the purchasing bit was interesting as well. Looking forward to it. More content the better
As to content this is everything promised in the roadmap except for Hamlet Defense which was scheduled for Ver 1.21. This gives me great hope that the schedule for Ver 2.0 is on track. Cannot wait for all the goodies between now and then. God Speed Dev Team
Even if it was delayed to Mid-May, Ver. 2.0 won't suffer because of 1.xx patches. and*for the 15th time I posted this in random other threads, and I'll again say it here.I fully suspect that the end of April can be considered a firm date. They are... 1 MONTH ahead of Schedule for 2.0... ayeOriginally Posted by Naoki_Yoshida

Producer/Director Yoshida here,
Thanks for continuing feedbacks on the spell casting.
We are looking through the comments so even with patch 1.22 or after on current or 2.0 we will look into making changes.
Once adjustment details on 1.22 is confirmed will update on it!
And just a little bit... (about 2.0)
We had a meeting with FFXI dev/management/other related departments regarding the entire project
Looking through current, checking on the project goals and checking the mile stones status, and within that meeting we also exposed the 2.0 FFXIV client which already started the QA process. This is really a large scale project and running alongside with current version we have to actually look to feel the reality of this.
(Remaking a MMO in year & half is something the dev team also believes it's not realistic ^^
So the 2.0 client is finished to a level where is reality.
For that swapping the maps for dungeons, transferring the contents and renewal, releasing lots of quest, how much to include using mass production. We're currently in that phase.
And after that it's just battle with time. To show to everyone it will require some more time. For myself I want to show the actual 2.0 FFXIV as a game and I apologize for dragging this but for now please fight against the 7th Umbral Era and wait for it.
Required spec will be lowered and we will also release the PS3 version.
We are working hard so more and more customers can play the game. So please encourage us.
Hmm... Molbol is going to get mad at me (Foxclon)
in anyrate, I can't wait for Garuda Fight, and the Imperial Stronghold!
Could also just be Imperial styles on the weapon types we have. The normal Garlean soldiers all carry normal weapons. It's only Gaius and Darnus that carry the special weapons.
So with the Garuda fight coming and JSW does that mean we get two sets of weapons this patch or is Garuda fight gonna have armor er somethin this time...or maybe it will be better cause it's harder, I dunno would LOVE for an answer to this...pretty please. =DRead.
Discuss.
Some exciting tidbits:
> Implementation of content for acquiring and upgrading job-exclusive weapons. (1.22-1.22a)
> Release of higher Grand Company ranks. (1.22)
> Implementation of buff system for company seal exchange items. (1.22)
> Construction of an imperial stronghold related to Meteor. (1.22)
> Implementation of new imperial weaponry. (1.22) Gun-weapons? o.o
> Implementation of system for seeking materia melding (1.22)
> Making certain unique/untradable items convertible into materia. (1.22)
> Addition of damage-per-second display to weapon information. (1.22)
I don't think he is trying to sound like an ass, I think he is making a joke. Sword-chucks are a runnin joke for anyone who reads 8-bit theater. Maybe i'm wrong, but thats how I took it...

Forgive me for being skeptical but I have seen too many target dates missed badly in the past. I grant you fudge factor where probably factored in but still being 2 month behind up still now did give me cause for concern. Sorry if this bothered you.
i think it would be awesome if in the imperial stronghold fights, the imperials have a chance to drop their weapons and we can pick it up and use it against them but then lose it once we are done, adds another element to the fights
