Let's not forget their AoE lol. It's all straight line garbage abilities, feels terrible to use after playing Reaper or other melee jobs.

Please no, not everything needs to be boring aoe circles, line attacks have also helped DRG stay ahead any time there is far enemies to hit with line attacks line in TEA, something the other melee can't do.
Isnt the monk the most braindead? At last did i loved him to 5.4/5 for that (after his rework).
But yes, the drg is similary easie. But where i fail with him is the use of dragon eye. I practicly forgett each time to target a other Player, for the Extra boost.
And, it can be a pain with his boost move, when the group has a second (or more) drg. Because, without coordination are they going to overwrite the other (similary to the ninja).
I’ve said this about 4 times already but reworks are a major double edged sword and SE track record for them has been abysmal in the last 6 years. SMN got simplified, MCH got lobotomized, MNK got sanded down, AST lost its identity, Tanks all got the homogenized, BRD Lost it’s edge, DNC was born simple, SAM is currently at a state of panic. NIN is going thru the motions aswell. Besides BLM what job hasn’t been screwed over by now?
As far as overall kits go, RDM is likely the last one untouched by a significant shift. It's just folks keep pointing out how low its damage is now.I’ve said this about 4 times already but reworks are a major double edged sword and SE track record for them has been abysmal in the last 6 years. I’m in the camp that thinks people pay way too much attention to “low DPS” in a game where that only matters in maybe 3 trials assuming everyone knows mechs which is the far more valuable trait.
RDM is like DNC where it was born to be very simple but that niche is no longer appealing in a game where all jobs are grinned down to meet its low standard
The monk had a good rework.
LG was crap, because it runned out to fast (no enemy, cutscene, not reachable) and the monk was without it to slow at the start (now he is the fastes meele in base form). He was nice in 5.3/4, because, he was so brain dead (i only moved, but didnt thinked much). With the beast chakra has he now something to build up again.
The only sad thing is the lost of his aura from LG4, the "lost" of elexier field (it was fun to Spam it, while running). And the positions is a question of taste (i like the lesser potitions)
The drg need skill adjustments in the lower lvl (at last give him a aoe before lvl 40). His drg eye is hard to use (i forget each time to select a other Player, or, are stoping to attack for it).
And, his fire jump has a to long CD (and is only one of two circle aoe). It feels like, that he could need a cupe aoe to, byside his other line aoes.
It would be nice, if his jump would be like that from ninja, to have a free usable cap closer (whe have only one backwards).
Aside of that wouldnt i knowing, what the Focus of the rework could be.
I picked up DRG as a main this tier and these are the only things that bug me about it:
-Mirage Dive is basically a filler ability. Might as well have it baked in High Jump. I don't get the reason to have it as its own ability.
-Having 2 Spineshatter Dives makes our bursts feel clunky with how often our jumps immobilize us (High Jump, 2x Spineshatter Dive, Dragonfire Dive, Stardiver). Get rid of Spineshatter dive and replace it with some other ability. We already have Elusive Jump for a movement option anyway.
Aside from these two points, DRG feels great to play to me.
