Im very hopeful for this as well. Just...I like her character, but they just didnt DO much with her, and she always stays behind and offers very little to the group, despite giving the feeling she CAN do more. 7.0 giving her the time to Shine is very Welcomed.
Im forgetting his name at the moment, but there is a Youtuber who suggested she could be the New Face of the New Job as well as taking more of a Lead Role. I think that could be neat~ And I think at this point she's also the only Scion who hasn't undergone a Costume Change.
Her hoodie is cute, and I actually didnt know she is a Callback Reference to another FF game! But even so, it is time for a Wardrobe Change if we are going to see More of her.

Most of the series is a nod to something from one of the other games. Kind of like how Disney used to have easter eggs to previous animated installments even if said nods would make you go wait why is there a plushy of Ariel in Aladdin type of thing. As long as we don't go Cup of Noodles level of stupid I'm fine with callbacks and nods. And if they get woven into XIV's world good enough that it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb like how the Nier raids feel to a lot of people. Though some would say we have already went to Cup of Noodles level of stupid and so far past it that me and others like me must have been too busy looking at Promto's pictures to have noticed it.

I really don't believe we should be building this game around people who are still upset that Moenbryda and Haurchefant died and thus act averse to any other main character deaths from the protagonist faction. At some point they've got to put their foot down about this. As others have stated before:

I suppose this might be another post to potentially bookmark in order to keep track of the points being raised but as has been pointed out in the past it is specifically being requested that there are meaningful lasting consequences for at least some of the major protagonists.

Not just throwaway side characters of little relevance who are created with the intention of dying horribly. Not only antagonists and villains who are predictably given a sob story to induce sympathy and then unceremoniously killed off.

The occasional character on the level of Alisae, Y'shtola, Urianger, Raubhan, Nanamo or Merlwyb actually facing death in a meaningful and well written fashion would do wonders to portray some actual stakes.

I'm not convinced that one sided magic and world altering abilities are particularly engaging, either. Wanting more fantasy elements does not necessarily equal wanting them to manifest solely as an excuse to shield the major characters at almost every turn, especially when the story is written in such a way as to disallow the antagonists to score any meaningful on screen victories.

I want a compelling story and lasting consequences would achieve that as far as I'm concerned.

As has been pointed out over the numerous past occasions where the 'this is not Game of Thrones' line has been spouted, many of us aren't asking for mass death for the sake of mass death and are instead asking for death to occur where and when it makes sense. Cladding the bulk of the cast in extensive plot armour simply sends things in the opposite direction.

I would humbly suggest bookmarking this post if you're able to. It might help refresh your memory next time this same point is raised.

Do people just deliberately skip cutscenes and try to use ignorance as an argument for MSQ when they should WATCH THE CUTSCENE THAT EXPLAINED LITERALLY THE ENTIRE REASON WE ARE WHERE WE ARE AT NOW? Also, they could just make a planar fissure. If they wanted to. Who knows.

That said, I doubt we'll be going back to Heavensward unless we only delayed the Game of Thrones timeline, but Stormblood is probably a more reasonable expectation on what 7.0 may go back to. I'm hoping it does that for combat as well, but one can dream.

IDK, we got moogles when the horde was slaughtering ishgardians. I feel like a lot of people forget how disjointed HW was. I went back through it recently.

And Alexander had fairly serious connotations, but was filled with goofy goblins.

The pixie section in SHB had dark undertones, but the overall mood was lighthearted and silly.

Eulmore and the Chais, etc, etc.

The game has always interspersed humor and dark. You can't go one way too much or it turns into slapstick or depressing.

Its one of the things people miss with the most recent Thor movie actually.

There's a time and place for humor, and immediately after the slaughterfest that took place mere moments ago ain't it.

It's actually on par for humor in this game, and lightened an incredibly dark mood pretty quickly. Whether that was needed, is up to the person's tastes, but pure drama without lighthearted moments or jokes is just very draining, IMO. I don't think I'd have been able to binge the original Law and Order if it wasn't for the wisecracks/humor it dropped from time to time in the episodes.

Jokes aside, I have a feeling she's going to replace Y'shtola as our exposition character. I wasn't really a fan of the latest patch msq in regards to exposition and setup. And the implication that Ishikawa had to change the plotlines for EW at the last minute would explain why the pacing was really weird and some of the events weren't fleshed out as much as they should've been (that Freaky Friday incident in Garlemald ring any bells?). If Ishikawa's still the head msq writer then I think Yoshida should just let her and her team have full reign of the story this time since it's a perfect opportunity to set up a better setting and atmosphere. EW was a jumbled mess in regards to immersion and consistency imo. Also, can we get some more Hroth representation? I'd love to see a gay fur daddy *wink. If not, i'd love to see a Roe/Hroth as a main character (make them interesting instead of being another scion carbon copy please).

After 10 years of having our exposition character be a catgirl I am not sure that a female Lalafell is a suitable replacement. As I've mentioned before, concentrating all the brains in the party in the female party members makes them come across as preachy while making the men look less intelligent by comparison. Despite Urianger being such a learned individual he did not grate on people's patience as much as Y'shtola did, and I think we can do without a repeat of her in the form of Krile.

I do however support the addition of men of the burlier races, including Hrothgar, to the main cast. There was a highly offensive insinuation made by another poster that an Iron Bull sort of character wouldn't be "masculine" enough on account of their sexuality but that could not be further from the truth. So long as the character's behavior is not offputting in the same vein as G'raha Tia's is and they present themselves in an appropriate manner, I see no reason as to why such a request would be denied. From loud and roudy warriors like Iron Bull to more chivalrous types of personalities, it is not impossible for beauty to be found in the beast.
