Getting your 60,90,120 and 180 buffs to sync up as much as possible was part of fight optimization and people who wanted to do so simply dealt with it. That's the whole point of optimization after all, overcoming the dps losses that the game throws at you.
People are complaining about tank dps being unbalanced and you think they want to take jobs where you have to work to align buffs to achieve the same dps as jobs who's buffs line up without any work?
