Never mind all that though. Because it is really interesting that SCH is actually extremely capable in combat despite ALL of those drawbacks. Makes you wonder how good it could be if it didn't have those inconveniences, but I digress.

Never mind that too. The burning question I have for you is before coming here and creating this complaint thread, have you put yourself in a SCH's shoes to ascertain what they go through during an encounter?
Fairy skill delay is signifcantly lower than in ShB, the only time you still notice it is when using fairy skills back to back as they have a 2-3s delay between them. And how is SCH heavily reliant on GCD? You have several strong free oGCD and Aetherflow heals for a much smaller dps loss than GCDs. It's not reliant on GCDs at all. And Energy Drain doesn't restore anymore MP since EW, the MP restoration instead comes from 2k upfront from using Aetherflow itself and LD.
Yes, Dissipation and Seraph lock you out of part of your toolkit so plan ahead instead of healing completely reactively and you're fine. SCH isn't rough at all, it's just not meant to be a fully reactively healing Succor-bot. That's all.
It's the cloest thing to a skill ceiling we have left.

That's why you don't use it first and are not meant to use it first. If anything I wish that crutch GCD heals in general weren't as strong and easily spammable so people learn to use their toolkit instead of spamming Medica II/ Succor/ Asp Helios/ EProg for every scratch. It's more than fair that it's not strong because the rest of your toolkit is and is either free or tied to a much smaller dps loss.

I miss when you could manually control Eos/Selene's Embrace. Add the ability to spread 3 DoTs using Summoners old abilities. Since Summoner is no longer about that, can Scholar get those back at least? There's a lot of fun gameplay (imo) that gets shafted for no reason, for accessibility, or incredibly arbitrary (imo) reasons. At least they claim they'll explain themselves going forward...

I hope we can get some fun elements going again in the next expansion...

Succor is meant as both a last resort and if you want a GCD shield that doesn’t suck without CD’s oh succor there is spreadlo, this sounds more like a SGE complaint TBH considering it’s shielding is more lacklustre than SCH’s

I think she means holding aetherflow for the MP restoration effect when you think your MP is getting low rather than always using aetherflow roughly on CD and dumping excess stacks into ED, not using ED as the mana restoration tool like it was in ShB.

Still not great advice but makes more sense if you look at it that way

at the same time though it's not really a huge problem because that raid wide doesnt hurt to much anyway in 99.9% of the games content
Assuming you need to cast them. You don't really cast Succor/Adlo much at all at endgame unless there's downtime where nobody can hit the boss, or unless the attack is going to kill the group/tank without the shields.

What runs are you talking about? If it's Savage and Ultimate, sure: I don't know because I don't play that.

Literally anything else, including EX SCH is perfectly fine and still my favorite job to play.

Everything you find good about SCH in EX it’s better in savage and ultimate

SCH has been the undisputed king of healing this expansion and has been a meta job amongst the healers for longer than any other job besides NIN who they bent the entire games design around

Hmm, i am not sure i understand the reasoning here. I play SCH and i can play all Ex and most of the savage fights with no problem. To make it clear i am not a good SCH player. A good SCH will be an absolute Powerhouse. If you ares struggling with SCH then there is something not right with your gameplay. Not an attack but i use some of the tipps from "Momo" and only with these and my base knwoledge of the healers i can already rock Ex and Savage with SCH even as a SGE main.
What i wish is, there would be an interaction between shielding-dpsing-healing but thats something i want for all healers in general but otherwise the SCH has a lot healing and the biggest shields. I see no reason to increase healing or shielding for the SCH at all.

I'm going to probably scream in excitement when 7.0 comes out and Broil V hits 300 potency, playing SCH going to be WILD once it hits 300!!!

    • Adlo needs it's cast time reduced. Playing sage is like night and day with their instant shields.
I'm still quite frankly amazed at how SGE can be the most bland, boring, god awful dogwater job this game has ever received, and there are people who say "Yes, please make SCH more like SGE."

Standing in stark contrast to that, I find Sage incredibly fun, and it's my main shield healer of the two.
Though I will say I wouldn't want either to play more like the other.
