I agree they should give us more masculine options but it can be done with the current races. Add more faces, more varied hairstyles and muscle tone sliders.
I wonder how they would even do a proper lizardman. Like, that race would realistically have to be limited? What are they going to wear wigs for shared hair? With hrothgar, hair can actually make some amount of sense. In ESO, they have specific, like, feathers as hair, if I recall, for argonians.

They already have Bangaa in game, and plenty of lizard-like creatures. I dont think it would be difficult if they tackled a Playable Anthropomorphic BiPedal Reptile character.
Honestly though.....I think it would be interesting if the playerbase as a whole could agree or accept it would just be better...if they didnt get Hairs.
Depending on the style of reptiles...then yeah,m they could just do what ESO has for Argonian and just give horns, ornaments, feather plumage...stuff like that. I know people are very attached to their hairs, but I think a Playable Reptile might have to be the occasion....well not HAVE to but...eh idk. Just my thoughts.

I always had the feeling Au Ra ended up with "tattoos" instead of proper scaley limbs (like their concept art) for the same reason Hrothgar couldn't even have claws - they would've needed to retexture every single glove/boot with exposed fingers or toes. At the end of the day, even the "beast" race is a human in disguise.

Lost Ark warrior male bodytype is a bit too big for my tastes, but it's definitely nice for the people who like that. I haven't played Lost Ark - aside from logging in - for months, but, I think, at least in one version of the game, they have actually adjusted the bodytype of that class. I don't know if that screenshot is after adjustments or before.
Likely from before. The updated model isn't even out as far as I'm aware, and I've only ever seen a single screenshot of it to the point I question if it wasn't just some fever dream lol but either way it's basically just making them taller to match the other models, not so much change their body type.

so apparently the only option that doesn't "stress the newbies" is either pressing 1211111111, or do nothing at all.

It probably wouldn't be since half their gear would be unusable if something like bangaa were to be implemented (a lot less future support!). No foot gear, no handgear, no headgear, no hair. People's modern aesthetics are things they have bought, earned, etc.. A lot of players don't like to lose access to all that. ESO is nice since they actually do do racial specific styles, and themes, but I digress, this is for another thread.

Yeah, that is probably part of the reason au ra didn't come out as aggressively monstrous or beast like, as seen in some of the concepts.

Okay, I see. I think I saw mention of an update, and some images of it awhile ago. Warrior is also a class I never played, so I wouldn't have ever seen or noticed it really, even though I do still log in frequently. I think I recall liking the changes more, but I do prefer a taller male.

Im all for masculinity but these calls often come off like they are being dismissive and argumentative against us feminine people. You don't "need" these men in this game. You want them to be, but lets be real. Final Fantasy has rarely been for masculinity. It's a bit braver than that.

I think that's a rather strange stance to take. Nobody is obligated to place feminine men atop a pedestal and there's plenty of masculine, clearly male characters present in every single Final Fantasy game.

That aside, I'm personally attracted to masculinity, not femininity and the game could use more testosterone for those of us who like it. Even if it's purely on the basis of wanting it for a self insert or whatever.

I prefer male characters that look manly too. I know many liked to make the argument of "representation" in the game, when things like male viera were being discussed, about how we needed this or that bodytype, well we need more masculine male representation. Attractive masculine males, not.. something.. like.. current highlander.. Even just a couple new faces would be nice. Players deserve it.

Please. I just want some god dang eyebrows on my Highlander bro, a few more faces that don't look like they were chiseled from weathered bricks and some more facial hair.

Except that isn't the case, at all. There is nothing inherently brave about being one of the few MMORPGs out there that for some reason deny players the ability to make characters as masculine as they are in other games. We don't need masculine men? Then you don't need feminine men. Now obviously I don't want to actually get rid of or exclude options like Miqote, male Viera etc. but the balance is stacked too high in that direction when it comes to character creation and those of us who want to play a standard masculine guy are stuck with Roegadyn and Highlander, both of which have numerous design issues that haven't been fixed after a decade of waiting.

The incoming graphics upgrade isn't likely to fix Roegadyn's waist size or constant issues with texture stretching on armor, nor is it likely to give highlander eyebrows unless they revisit the 3d model and add eyebrows to the mesh, which they are extremely hesitant to do given how much time it took for them to eventually "brute force" their way into giving Midlanders facial hair. Guess we'll have to wait for one of these devs to go rogue again like they did with male Viera creation and see if any are willing to give Highlanders eyebrows, because I have no reason to believe that such a project will receive official permission.

..where did you get this drivel? None of the devs "went rogue"... if you are referring to the Viera hats, that was a TEAM effort. Not one person.

standard masculine guy are stuck with Roegadyn and Highlander,
Au Ra arent masculine? News to me.
