While I personally don’t care if IS is unlocked only at lvl 90 (I do have it unlocked on my main but not in a rush to get there on other toons), speed running and skipping cutscenes, not doing any type of side content (not even glamours!) and having to come back in areas to unlock currents at a later time is not everyone’s cup of tea. Also, the first run was still 57 hours which is more or less the amount of time I play per month.

I am doing the very opposite as op on a toon, taking the time to do a lot of side content on an alt. It is very slow but I find it enjoyable and relaxing and I am picking up new things in the story I didn’t pay attention to the first time around.

Good for op if he likes it though.

That being said, if I were going to measure the time it takes to do a speedrun, I’d use trusts/duty support whenever available as queue times can very greatly, not just depending on role but on the server you’re on and on times at which you play.

I don't think 70+ hours is a short time. That's longer than most videogames. I mean they have unlockable hairstyles you can't put on the marketboard in the Gold Saucer and it takes maybe an hour to unlock that.

No, he doesn't but of course someone had to come along and attempt to derail a thead about having fun by playing the game in a highly unusual way and setting MSQ speedrun records to poke fun at people that disagreed with them.
Speedrunning means skipping cutscenes, ignoring all side content, ignoring aether currents while pushing and rushing through everything. Unless you are saying that is a completely normal and enjoyable way to play for most people with alts, I call BS.

But on to topic: I'm impressed. I'm not surprised healer was fastest as their queue times are incredibly short so that takes out a lot of potential idle time but less than 3 days is extremely short. While skipping cutscene takes out the majority of the time it still requires pushing in other areas too. Even simple things like having to look for the right aetheryrte to teleport to add up over the course of the MSQ. Did you generally played during prime times while doing the speedrun? Or odd times too? Asking because Toutatis made a valid point with the queue times varying greatly.

The true endgame is Limsa flexing instead of working on alts

I respect your choice regarding alts =) Everyone is different. From my experience with speedrunning, I've found that playing a healing job will always be a the most fastest/optimal choice seeing as how the queues are usually instant as-is and this especially matters when it comes to trials. In addition, players are more capable of pulling more trash mobs which leads to a quicker time than using the trust/duty support system.

I respect your choice too (edited my original post in that regard as I was mostly answering to the other person) and while not something I will attempt, I find it interesting.

Btw, for trusts, I just run ahead and pull the next group of adds regardless of my role. If not on a tank, the npcs will then start running towards you with the first group of adds as soon as you pull and it speeds things up considerably.

And you have more control over saving situations than on other classes and wipes not only cost time but there is also a small risk of people getting into arguments/ leaving. But it was interesting to see the differences between classes/ roles.
While I didn't attempt any speedruns, I always leveled a healer while doing MSQ for fastest queue times and more control over the situation and I wasn't locked to playing MSQ at prime time since MSQ trials popped decently fast even at odd hours.

Starting Conjurer is also really good because of Repose.

You can sleep anything getting in the way of your quests, whether it's aggro mobs or FATEs around quest npcs/items that take a while to collect. There's also a surprising amount of fights you can outright skip in ARR MSQ where there's items in a dangerzone that you have to grab but enemies show up once you enter it but you can easily sleep said enemies and grab the items before being on your way.

All of my 4 alts are in the same data center and same fc. All of my alts are level 90 and all of my alts including me, the main, have level 10 island sanctuaries. My friend ask me why I played so many and I replied, Mounts, fae wings ,etc. I crafted fae wings warrior weapon and put the wings on and it is a grand effect. You can also turn on the weapons shiny and then turn on the wings and then activate a dance and it works. Dancing with fae wings attached is a rush.
