    That's why I said it had to be a bug prob, because I was stupid hyped and stopped getting mad when I was 1shotted by DRG's seemingly randomly. Back in Season 1, I hadn't even read the description about Life of the Dragon since I assumed it worked the same as PvE and didn't know it could buff my spear etc. I had like 150-200 ranked games floating in Diamond 5 to Diamond 1 trying to hit Crystal in Season 1 with DRG so I was just always watching my LB's. I used to be a tester for my old game and we had damage value bugs during a revamp that changed the combat system (like what they just did for PvP actions) and there were several weapons that didn't crit properly in PvE anymore, things that were supposed to be guaranteed crits that weren't, or moves that were supposed to have X amount of damage ticks but would get 1-2 less ticks every 4-5 attempts of that move.

    P.S. - And watching my old livestreams, there's attacks that have !! next to them and attacks that don't, but I see one of my spears that has !! and only shows 16K which means they keep the PvE indication of a Direct Hit/Crit even though the damage value wouldn't be increased according to you guys saying there are no crits. So if you ever have buffs or a wide window on the damage value RNG of the tick itself, that's gonna look like something it's not xD That's interesting to keep the visual indication but not change the damage.

    You've lost me. The point I made a little earlier is that your page 1 post had a proven flaw, which made people question your takes. I don't know what you're trying to point out with this here paragraph.

    1. It's to say that it's not a proven flaw. Damage value bugs do actually happen inside of games, especially when systems are reworked. Saying that moves aren't supposed to crit doesn't mean that they didn't in the past. Hence the reason for tooltip updates they did for several patches updating ability descriptions that weren't correct.

    2. Nor is it reasonable to assume someone's skill based on said comment because of the P.S. I just added that mentions the normal PvE indications of crit attacks are still present in PvP. So to see LB's that are 40-45k that have !! next to them just like Fell Cleave's in PvE and I know the base damage is 20-30K, any regular person is going to assume that's a crit just like PvE because nowhere in the system does it say directly that moves will have the written animation of a crit, but not actually crit for damage value. When I heard that the potency's in PvP were raw damage and not scaled to different jobs like PvE, I didn't take to magically mean they would remove crits and direct hits from the attacks themselves.

    If a PvP skill hits damage with the "!!" next to it, this means it dealt damage while completing the condition for ideal damage, not because of bugged critical hits existing. Example:

    1.) Bloodspiller does 6000 damage. It scales up to 12000 damage when you are at 25% or less current HP. If you are at 25% or less HP, it will have the "!!" suffix.
    2.) Skyshatter (DRG LB) does 20000 damage natively in a 10y radius, with a bonus +50% in a 5y radius instead. If you hit someone with the 5y radius, it gives "!!" suffix.
    3.) Primal Rend and Chaotic Cyclone usually do 8000 damage, but if Warrior used Primal Scream, they gain the effect "Inner Release", doubling the potency of these. Also gives "!!".

    This got explained in liveletters how the effects happen and I wouldn't be surprised if the PvP guide mentioned something like this.

    To explain why you witness teamwipes like this from Skyshatter:
    1.) Skyshatter is affected by Geirskogul's +25% damage boost
    2.) Jobs that provide buffs (Balance, Adloqium, etc) or debuffs (Toxikon AOE, Onslaught, etc) further enhance damage of Sky Shatter.
    3.) Volcano can provide the buffs from the exploding bombs to increase damage dealt.

    Just some simple math with just DRG + AST Balance:
    30000 * 1.25 (Geirsk.) * 1.1 (Balance) = 41250 damage.

    So no, there is no bug, you are simply being subjected to the fact that damage buffs and damage taken debuffs exist, just like damage downs (orogeny, biolysis) and defense ups (Guard) do.

    "completing the condition for ideal damage" -> Now that's an interesting concept. My old game had written text saying crit but when we hit ideal damage conditions it did a quick "shing!" sound and made a small red/white ring on the screen where the attack hit. Probably too much to ask for them to the separate the indications since its not meta-breaking like it was on my old game.

I didn't get to see them live so I skipped through looking at the slides for important info on rewards/release date. I only looked over the job pvp guides in the past from the job pages (never used the guide section of the lodestone so I didn't know a generic pvp guide even existed) so I just found:
    The following are unavailable in PvP duties:
    Auto-attack
    Blocking with shields
    Parrying
    Critical hits
    Direct hits

    You would think that would be the area they'd add an explanation saying the ideal condition is what replaces the !! LOL That and why they don't link the generic pvp guide from the job pvp page like they do the patch notes that affect pvp >.>

    "3.) Volcano can provide the buffs from the exploding bombs to increase damage dealt." -> That would make more sense depending on how high of a buff it was. That was the map that often did it, that and to other Dragoons ever so often which /could/ ever so often be subject to the Life of Dragon debuff and give me a 25% buff. That would be 30,000 * 1.25 (my buff) * 1.25 (their debuff buff) and that puts me at the 46-47k range which is around the 45k hits I remember. Even without teammates or buffs I'm actively considering, just that small window of a line-up and that's ~80% health chunk.
