……..I’m trying to remember what person was hyping up the new system in the forums. Saying that this will be a great thing for the content and filtering out ppl because they suck. Im not hearing good things so far..

Probably was me, but of course the games right now are currently wild. You have a mix of Top 100 and Crystal mixed in with worthless players. It's extremely volatile.

At Gold, you are not even close to be able to hit demotion, so that new system that I praised is not even in effect.

Now, what I don't praise is the matchmaking changes, which I thought would just make it harder for the same people to play against each other to prevent wintrading, now matches people from all kinds of ranks a lot more, making games even more unbalanced than before. I'll wait until I understand how the higher ranks work, but if let's say they are still matching Crystal with Platinum players, what was even the point of demotion ? My hunch is that they kept the Diamond 3 at minimum, but I'll figure it out when I get there (I just started playing last night).

We are not even done with the first week of a season that is going to last months. More and more players are climbing in the higher ranks everyday, meaning that the lower ranks are losing more people that can carry, making it more balanced. Because the Top 100s all around are building up and, shocker, it's a lot of the same names from before. Probably the luckiest people in the world or the biggest cheating conspiracy of all time, according to y'all.

So, yeah, keep it up, stay patient, if you wait a bit it will become easier but if you wait too much, queues won't pop as much because a lot of the lower tier players get discouraged and the better players will have climbed up.

I don't think it's a conspiracy at all. I referenced the probabilities several times because that's what the current system is designed to do. The late season effects may materialize as you say, but they also may not as people rush to complete as the season winds down.
