Well I'm trying to, but whatever I'm doing must be incorrect, because when I click on the seeds nothing seems to happen. I assumed it's the pumpkin seeds, since they're the only ones I've found and the NPC gave me 5 more when I got to this step.

Not sure if I missed someone replying to this - but this caught me out too.

You don't click on the seeds themselves, you click on the empty box where the seeds need to be moved to. This will then give you a little pop up panel with items you can place in the box under your mouse (bit like when you have to turn in a quest item).

Well, crap. I was trying to click them in the inventory. I didn't even notice an extra box appearing only in sow mode because it wasn't there up until that point.

Really feel like that part could have been explained better.
