Every new headgear they introduced this patch that covers the head removes my ears. I like being a miqo'te, but I think I'm forever stuck wearing old hats.

If you're talking about him being aware of what the community wants and doesn't he is very aware. Just only the JP community. Japanese people don't give a flying royal fuck about the rest of the world. Always has been like that. They're still be isolationists if the US didn't force them not to be. I actually thought about doing this thread several times. I even mentioned the problem in other places and people always came up with some excuse to deify FFXIV, which made me simply lose the will to make this post.

But with each patch things have gotten worse. I can barely tell if any EW helmets have Miqo'te ears. Apart from the case of enshroud, a skill that removes all racial traits.

SE is getting used to removing racial traits, someone needed to say something.

Oh I know he's not aware of anyone else. Why do you think RMT spamming hasn't actively been addressed ever? Because it's not a problem on JP servers. Only NA/EU ones. And devs couldn't give a single fuck about NA/EU. We're the revenue that allows them to make the game in Japan.

This has been happening since ARR.

In 1.0 through 2.0, armor had actual holes for tails and specialized bits for ears.

The first thing that went away were the tail holes, and they just accepted that the tails would clip straight through whatever they made, fitted to the tailless Hyur.

Someone down the line decided that making a whole separate model for the body piece was a waste of resources just for a single race and they started to get phased out in the subsequent ARR patches. And then ears started to go away in ShB. Sometimes they come out with special pieces like the ShB dragoon armor with an armored tail like the darklight armor had in 1.0 for Miqo'te, but it's rare that happens. A part of me wants to blame the new races since they started getting lazy right before or at the point a new race was released but it could be a coincidence and just the result of a directive made at the same time to spend less resources on that.

Brah, they don't even do helms with a /visor option anymore. You are arguing with a brick wall, the devs are going to do what they do, nothing more. lol

Not necessarily. They relented on hrothgar ears in a patch. With enough player support, or want, we can get stuff, but we definitely won't get anything if people accept everything as it is. They do seem to listen at times, they might not really communicate they are doing so though.

I am not sure about any new pieces, but after the start of EW*, with capes for example, they started splitting them more. I'm not sure if there is a direct correlation to players not liking the clipping, or the alternative of their tails being cut off, but having capes split, even if it's universal, is good for preventing tail clipping. I know I was heavily against the clipping, and even more so against tails being removed entirely.

I completely agree. Thank you for making the post. People seem to think this is an argument of hats or no hats. No, this is not an argument for something vs nothing. This is an argument for something with STANDARD qualities already in the game. Of course we all want helmets. No one is saying let there be no helmets. We're saying, thank you for the helmets, please do better, we know you can.

... Mate, a lot of Final Fantasy is actually inspired by the West. Damn, if I were on a less censored forum I'd have a couple of things to say about the Anglo-Saxons who have the audacity to come out with something like this. Yes, exactly. When I comment on the quality of hats, the first thing I get answered is "I prefer it like this than nothing at all".
But are we in such a bad game that we choose between bad work and nothing?

Capes that split to make room for Au'Ra & Miqo'te tails
