I decided to look up wow and transmog as people keep talking about it like it's the answer to the alleged problem...

"Transmogrification has a number of restrictions, and not all items or pairings can be transmogged. Most importantly, the character must be able to equip both items, armor must be of the same armor type, and weapons must use the same attack style.[1][2]"

What the actual hell? It's basically the same thing we have right now! (taken from wowpedia. feel free to post a more correct version)

You can't even multiclass, so of course it's no big deal to store all the gear.

No, it's not. You have no space limitations for transmogs. Every item, you got and that item had better quality than green is always available for transmogging. There is no glam dresser with limited space and you have to put an item into it etc. And the transmogs are account wide. It is also a nice advantage. If i collect a transmog template with my priestess, i can use this template on my other characters.

It's essentially the same thing.

It doesn't matter that alts on that game can use templates because they still have to adhere to the restrictions of what they can wear. You don't have multiclassing on that game. You don't even have non-combat classes with their own gear as an option.

Every transmog system is essentially the same thing. But again, you have no space restrictions because there is no glam dresser. And the restricted space is the major thing, which annoys the players mostly. In WoW, every character has access to every transmog template in the game as long as the character can equip that item. You only have to unlock the transmog template by collectiong the corresponding item. You can sell the item afterwards and the transmog template is still available.
